I have a rifter
3 different people today, first, an Enyo. You warped off without even locking me. Second, a Hawk, you ran away without a second thought. Third, A Merlin, could have been an interesting fight but you warped away anyway.
Please, just grow a pair, its bad enough that I am now resorting to attacking T2 Assault frigates with a totally T1 ship, but when you run away it makes me question the fundamentals of human nature. Are you really so scared that you want to avoid a fight at any cost? FFS ITS A RIFTER.

Yeah, that could be true, but honestly what else would he have engaged them in that they wouldn't have warped off? AF's and Inties look like tacklers too. Most cruisers can easily kill an AF solo. It sounds like these guys would have warped off no matter what he came in aside from a shuttle/hauler
(hint: Try a battle badger, and see if they'll engage you then!) ________________________________

I would do the badger thing, but i actually can't fly them, lmao
When i started playing this game, everyone would fight you. Over time, people have become too obsessed with their ego's, every loss they incur is either a stain on their rep or an embarresment to their alliance.
Grow a pair! Fight for the love of fighting! Defend your space, kill your agressors! Whatever the reason, when you PVP, make sure you are PVPing for fun. And for the love of god, have fun doing it.
My rifter was camping G-5, the people I wanted to engage came from Assah, they knew there was no backup near the area. They could have engaged and destroyed me easily yet they ran. It just smacks of cowardess to me. -----

tbh i can completly understand it
a. they might think as mentioned that you are a taclker for some other friends, which btw i now you corp does. b. with the state of ecm as it is, if they are fitted to pve and they are assuming you have a jammer, this is another reason to run.
once ecm is fixed you'll probably get more fights

yeah, I remember the good ol' days too. I was in a belt in egglehende (or however you spell it) waiting for a ratter to come by or something, and killing the time by blowing up some NPC's. And then two new guys in frigates (a tristan and an incursus) warped in and engaged me.
They were total newbs, and I killed them pretty easily as I was in a thorax, but I loved the fact they tried to kill me even if it was a long shot. Those days be gone though. Now you have to outsmart the ones who run and get the jump on them. But that is the nature of eve, always a changing enviroment. ________________________________

indeed pre-rmr i used to fit frigs with a 7.5 scram since i normally had the time to get in range and scramble. now everyship i have has a 20k or 2 if possible since as soon as i enter a belt they will run. I have a much better chance of landing 20km away then 7.5. Just have to hope they aren't stab up, most of them are :(

I've had simular situations as the OP.
But my theroy is that there are a number of people who a very adverse to risk because there is an obsetion with collecting virtual wealth. Which is why we see a large number of people who refuse to fight with out a numbers advantage the assures victory, or other such things.
And like the OP, I have noticed an increasing trend of "people without a pair" and its actually pretty sad, since I for one take most of my fun from the game from the risk its self.

being in MC to be honest i would be very suprised if you have a problem accumulating wealth or that you aren't already extremely wealthy. Noobs npcing in low sec are far from wealthy, they are more likely casual players that don't get into 0 often enough to know the locals and/or are just plain noobs. their income is belting low sec. why would they risk their 12-20mill frig to a pirate in a 100k isk frig when they don't have the income.
i myself have an ok income but i don't jump into a fight with my faction fitted zealot cause i know it will take me a couple months of level4 to get it back.
a cruiser or tech2 frig, sure why not

Basicly ecm makes people afraid. A rifter could probably jam and hold someone for about a minute until his friends arrive.
So yeah, ecm makes blobbing worse.

Do you realize most people just mind their own sh1t and don't care for your sh1tty rifter?
Do i stop to kill a rifter when i travel? No, usually not, since 99% chance is he is sitting on a gate and will jump as soon as i lock. But if i would notice you in battleship, i'd probably come back for you.

In the "good old days", blobbing wasn't so common a tactic. But I can't really blame people from running from fights if they aren't with their blob now, the odds are stacked so heavily against them.

I would just suggest changing your hunting grounds. Just moving one or two regions away can yield good results. Once you kill even a few targets in a region, word gets out.
Or better yet, move out to 0.0. The tactics are more flexible; Interdictors work (the target can have a bajillion WCS fitted, all worthless), bubbles work, whatever you need to do. Oh, and you can shoot anyone anytime anywhere (as long as they are not blue, of course). The skill required to get solo kills in 0.0 is a worthy and thrilling pursuit.
Oh, and PoSs hurt. Don't ask me how I know.

I've been playing this game for almost 2 years now, for 1 Year, 11 months of that time, I've lived in 0.0, for 1 Year and 7 Months of that, I've been in Shinra. I've done fleet fights, Solo fighting, ganks, POS warfare, station ping pong, Dreadnought ops all over the map, hell, practically everything.
Nothing compares to the disappointment of an Assault Frigate running away from a Rifter :P -----
