Is it possible to counter the card "Martial Law"?
I ask because the card itself has the ability "Martial Law cannot be destroyed or targeted"
However, Tallest said here on page two that  Originally by: Tallest
Mind Control can destroy a news card before it resolves. This means that the destroyed news goes straight to the scrapheap without doing anything.
This can be interpreted that the abilites on the card are not active until the card has fully reached play. So, until the card hits the playing table, it can be countered.
I personally hope that this is not so and that the card cannot be countered.

As per the ruling in this thread, referencing Thorax and Megathron, the cards themselves are not immune to the specified effects until they resolve and enter play. Thus, you can counter a Martial Law while it's on the pile.

I agree...
However, then it is almost pointless to put "Cannot be destroyed" on the card itself then, as the person who played it would probably not want to destroy it and I have seen no untargeted news killer in the game yet.
