Ok heres the challenge. I am a Caldari Pilot with 20milsp needless to say I am maxed out in missiles, and engineeriing skills (shield tanking). I have minimal gun skills, and no armor skills. I have trained for every Caldari ship I am interested in (except Capital). Now I want to train another race. My plan was to pick the race with the best overall T2 ships in each class; ceptor, af and hac. So in your opinions which ships should I train in each class. Also would it make sense to train different races for different classes of ships or train the same race for all these ships as i did for Caldari? your thoughts

if you've already mastered caldari, minmater is the clear choice for your next race.
That being said, 20 mil isn't enough to cap out caldari, get back to training.

All missile skills total out at just over 19million SP's so I'd say you've got a way to go before you're maxed on missiles
As for a new challenge, if you're looking for a vastly different fighting style over the shieldtank/missiles you've been using, I suggest you look at either Gallente or Amarr ships since they heavily favour armour tanking and turrets, and have their own individual (though not entirely different) tactics.
If you're really torn between what to train for regarding HAC's etc then try out the tech1 variants and see how you get on. Its only a few weeks worth of skill training and it'll help you decide, since in the end people on these forums will tell you what they think is the best race/ship etc and its really down to your own preferences
Oh, and blasters ftw. -

I may return to finish Caldari later, just want to create a well rounded pilot.

Minmatar is good because there you can actually use your missile skills, at least on some ships. For gallente and amarr, you wont.

Or Vagabond.. the coolest ship in the game. :) So some days I feel minmatar are fantastic, at least on frigate & cruiser level.

Awesome ship, but I'm not sure coolest. I can't afford to lose them, and tooling it so that it's near impossible to doesn't look like it will make things more fun I'd rather stick with my ruppie tbh

Yeah its a fantastic ship, but ive flown it so much now that im getting very tired of its looks. Ive even flown stabber for a while and think it looks much cooler. Im not sure about more effective though. :) About 2 weeks until i have cruiser V...that will be fun. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

I'd go for Amarr since you're Caldari. Think it like this, you're playing the "easiest" race of the game, try the hardest next.
...unless you like those fancy faction ships of course, then you should choose (was it?) Minmatar.

You think amarr is harder to play than minmatar? Minnies dont even have a tank...

Well they're clearly stronger than the trash bins we have over here so I wouldn't say they don't have a tank...at least they have midslots.

Athael, u arent maxed out in anyway with caldari, I have 40mills SP and I still have skills to train, do u have all of your caldari ships that u are interested in on lvl5? Do you have all of you missile skills on lvl5... all of your tanking skills on lvl5, no.. then u are far from maxed out in anything with caldari
IMO When u reach around 20mill SP you will have to get ready for the long skills, yeah I know it suck traning several rank 6 skills up to lvl5 but when u have those skills u wont regreth one min of your traning time, even tho it is very tempting to jump over to another race, train some skills for 1 week and beeing able to explore new ships. I'd say get a new account and try another race out.
But if u want to train for other ships fine, just giving u my oppinion.
Hell will seem like heaven when I am done with you. |

Flying Minmatar with mean shield and missile skills will surprise the hell out of a lot of people. I keep wanting to train T2 missiles for my minnie ships but never get around to it. I'd agree that they're the logical choice... _____________________

I dont see the point in not using a Raven if you have those skills though... that being said, the phoon is pretty good as a replacement since it can carry lots of drones.

I think that Amarr is the 2nd easiest and Minmatar is the hardest to play TBH. Gal is the 2nd hardest due to blaster/mwd/drone usage/range requirements.
I do agree that you should try Amarr next. This would force you to train up your turret and armor tank skills. After you get bored with that, switch to Gal. and work on your drone skills. THEN you can do Minmatar which requires a bit of everything to fly well.

To the OP, train up hybrid weapons next, That fleshes out Caldari ships, the support skills are nessesary for all other races main weapon, and you are just a hop skip and a jump from Gallente AND minitar from there.

Yes, since amarr have the highest damage vs most (aka armortanking) ships, the biggest amount of med slots and with minnies the highest sensor strength they have obviously a great advantage.
*cough* Anyway, most people here miss the point. He said

Thats IMO pretty clearly gallente. Tanaris should be after crow the best inty and Ishkur and Ishtar are one of the best, if not the best AF and HAC.

Try out Amarr.
With Caldari and Amarr skills you can fly such things as the Succubus and Phantasm.
Of course there are Caldari-Minmatar and Caldari-Gallente combo faction ships as well.
