You will also be able to claim a battlecruiser of your choice from Aura once you dock at the station in HED-GP (search system in locations). Be aware this is a new player thing only though and you'll only be able to claim it once.

You should post questions like this in the New Players Q&A section, where moderators will hopefully do a good job of screening out this kind of obvious BS.
OP don't listen to this guy, he's just trying to keep you away from your free ship. Pretty lame move if you ask me. I bet he just wants all the free ships to himself.
HED-GP is a great place where you will learn a lot about EVE, that you would never learn being stuck in and around your starter system, mining or whatever it is the renowned, self proclaimed experts in newbie chat is telling you to do.

Well there's only really one way to find out isn't there? All I'm saying is, you will receive a free battlecruiser if you dock in HED-GP. Also, curious, what battlecruiser would you pick?

A battlecruiser sounds sexy...but Im holding out for one of the Titans.
Gotta have high aspirations and goals, I like that. No not believing in yourself!
What's the sexiest battlecruiser then?

Likely his only way he can win is trying to bait a new player into a fight.
Wow, did I kill your renter alt or something recently? You seem very upset.
Also, before you reveal your inner 'sperg and make false accusations, check my killboard.

Since this thread got moved to New Citizen Q&A, might as well give some advice to the OP *puts on fedora*.
First of all, EVE is a pseudo-political internet spaceship PVP sandbox where as opposed to other theme-park styled MMO's, in EVE you create your own content.
Number 1 on your list should be to join a player corp. Preferably one of the larger entities as they will be helpful to newbies, provide you with free stuff, shower you with ISK, and teach you all there is about EVE.
There's a few I would recommend for a new player like yourself (Look them up in game or google them, etc..) The one I would recommend the most is:
- Goonswarm Federation - You will literally have the best new player experience (IMO) and become space rich from day 1. But the goon culture isn't for everyone. ( You will soon find out that the majority of eve are very "Grrr Goons!").
They aren't EVE players, but a part of the 'Something Awful' community, and they just happen to play EVE. Basically their philosophy is to get people into cheap ships (Does your ship have guns fitted? yes? get in!), and fight in overwhelming numbers with no fucks given. As a newbie you will get so many free ships and ISK you won't have time to lose them all. Get in that huge 1000 man fleet in a T1 frigate and tackle things for everyone. No not believing in yourself! So if it sounds interesting, join the SA community and get posting. Also read their wiki on how to join before you apply in game.
- Brave Newbies - Basically a place created by newbies, for newbies. You will learn the game with other newbies and have tons of fun. Have never been in BRAVE personally, but they're mainly a Reddit community I think, so should be easy to lurk their sub-reddit and learn more about them.
- EVE University - First of all, go to their wiki, then bookmark said wiki. It's one of the best public EVE wiki's.
One of the oldest training corps in EVE, which exists to teach you all about EVE in a class/lecture based manner.
- RvB (red federation and blue alliance) - Is pretty much what it sounds like. Red is at a permanent war with Blue, and pvp focused. A great place to jump directly into pvp in highsec as a newbie.
I could list more, but basically do some research on the history of EVE, and current events, and join a corp that sounds fun to you.
And some general tips are; Don't undock what you can't afford to lose, and don't be afraid to lose your ship. Learn game mechanics.
This is already a wall of text, so i'll end it there.
TL;DR - Join a known corp, make some friends, don't be afraid to lose ships, and have fun.

My initial plan was to see OP travel to HED-GP, die hilariously, then depending on how they reacted from said situation, i would or wouldn't give them a free battlecruiser of their choice (Hence why i failed twice trying to get OP to name their favorite battlecruiser.. so yeah).
But then the life of the party entered the thread and got their whiteknight panties strapped firmly, and sperged up my beautiful and generous plan for OP.

For sure, and I usually shower people I kill with ISK and ships if I discover they're a legitimate newbie and are good sports about their loss. Goes without saying too that if they tear up and unleash their finest vocabulary on me I will only pour salt into the wounds lol.
I believe OP is a pretty cool guy though. And the fact that he took the step to interact with the community shows he will be a great EVE player, be it a miner, pirate, or other.
Also :effort:
