I was unable to play for the whole day yesterday during patching.
Yes I can understand that patching can take a long time and sometimes they might run in to problems while doing so but if it gets extended by 10 hours it means that the servers were down for almost a full day.
At least I don't think the players should pay for that extension.

Would you rather have the server down for the whole day AND then have to pay for the upgrade? Quit *****ing and deal with it, this is alot better than almost every other company.

it's free content for krikeys sake... and you should never expect to play on a patch day....

Where, exactly do you see free content? I'd rather pay extra 20$ for every expansion than have such instability issues.

I'd tell you to go back to WoW, but my brother is already there and the server he plays on has been down all day since their patch this mourning

Everyone knew the patch was coming and everyone knows 99% of the time the patch over-runs by 3/4 hours. Only can think of 1 time when the server came up before it was ment to.
At least they keep the game updating the game so stop complaining!

its not free....you pay a fee each month to play for 30 days...this month you will play for 29 days...its not free...we all paid 1 day for it...when people will understand this..

second EVE is patched about 20 times a year do the maths, which would u prefer to pay $15 - $20 a month or $20 every time its patched

Grow up. It was a free upgrade. Are you gonna want another day when Kali is deployed? Blizzard would charge ú20 (at least) for an upgrade like that.

I have the right to have my own opinion guys, CCP are bathing in cash so it's not like we're making life hard on them by demanding ONE day back, releasing free expansions is actually smart because alot of ppl leave a game when an expansion comes around.
They aren't doing it to be nice to us, it's a business damnit!

Not signed either i think free expansions are a good thing. Anyway i went on a big session fishing then went for a few drinks with my GF got up this morning and now i'll DL the patch. Its easy on patch day go do something fun.

The day when the server is having a patch day and down for whole day is liberation day for me. Until the server is back up and enslave me to play eve again (those damned hamsters).
Still CCP's patches is much much cheaper (if you don't like the term "free content") than paying for expansion which basically still charges you the same subscription fee.

You have to remember that this is a free compulsory content patch. All you have technically lost is (16 / (24*30.5)) * $14.99 = $0.32
Compare that to other games, were unless you purchase a $19.99 'expansion', you are either playing a crippled version of the game (WoW/SWG), or prevented from accessing all areas of the game (UO).

Yes its only one day, but we do expect a service for our money.
To all those people who flame.. you would be complaining if you didnt have electricity for a day, its not an essential service (to most people).
And as for extra content, its mostly unseen optimisations. Kali is the extra content we are all waiting for, and this I wont mind losing a day over. This current loss of play is mostly a general patch.
