Yes I can understand that patching can take a long time and sometimes they might run in to problems while doing so but if it gets extended by 10 hours it means that the servers were down for almost a full day.
At least I don't think the players should pay for that extension.

You my friend don't get it. They posted UPFRONT that a major patch was about to deploy and could potentially take a full day to get it up and running thanks to unforseen consequenses.
You should also know that major patches in eve always go hand-in-hand with hickups. Read the stickied thread about the patch day's in eve.
I made sure i had long skill training set and the loss of isk is not alot. I don't expect CCP to give us a day on our accounts since they hardly do that only when the normal dt's go misserably wrong.
Stop your whine and go play.

3 things quickly
1) like all the others above me have said - ITS A FREE PATCH
2) skill training progressed while it was down, its not like you lost the training time
3) The last year I have played this game its been complained about every patch day, and every patch day is the exact same. Take the time they say, double it. server will be up by then. If its not then well, then we can talk. Till they overshoot their time by more than double I say CCP your doing a damned good job and thank you for your hard work.
Please ban people like this >.< EVE is not WoW and lets not devolve into that with the "give us free time for us having a FREE patch causing downtime"

Or I just couldn't care less since the patch is free and I got the chance to do some IRL stuff.

Although I would like to petition for three extra free days for when I went to visit my parents last weekend and they do not have an internet connection and I lost three days of playing!
I paid for them so I demand I get them back! Or send me a Navy Megathron.
Or send my parents a computer and broadband connection.

This patch isn't no damn expansion, did u tards even look at the patch notes for this patch? They even REMOVED the courier mission content, the rest was optimizations such as "the agent list is now listed alphabetically."

dont see it as a lost day for Eve, see it as a whole day of RL that was given to you by CCP, for Free. You could have a shover, eat something, go out and meet Friends (no not on ICQ) and God help as all, take a look at a REAL girl( or boy for the few real female players ;) )

There is no such thing as a "free patch" in mmos for christ sake.
MMO rules for dummies: The monthly fee is there to cover staff, internet connections and time it takes to make patches for the game.
In theory, you're basically buying an expansion each month so please don't come here with your "oh but it's free" crap. It's not free.

Tivook you just joined the REALLY long list of people who have asked this before. You could have seen the sort of response you were going to get if you had used the search function but hey its always good to start a new thread covering the same topics as has been covered many times before.
My 0.2 isk? Hell no it would cost CCP 50 cents per account which is around $70.000 USD and thats money i would rather see put to good use elsewhere such as paying the bughunnters a bit more overtime to fix stuff.
On top of that you are not entitled to a refund for downtime. Read the EULA for confirmation of this.

All of the optimisations and upgrades are for our benefit, and outages are covered by the EULA you signed before playing the game...
That's the polite way of saying stop being a tard and be thankful CCP are continuously improving things for us.

I do take it you have not read or if you have not read, the previous posts by the devs...
This stated that this patch will help stop the dt problems we have had... so one day is not a problem..
Why are you so upset? Have you read the EULA because that does not state the eve will be up 23/7....
