With Phoebe, to be released on November 4th, we not only bring large changes (such as the way how you travel with capital ships), we also have an exciting list of Little Things that will improve the daily life in EVE.
To name just a few of those:
- An improved asset search that will search through containers
- A new state for the overview window that will "Always show" entities regardless if the other states would have filtered out this entitiy
- Separate windows for the directional and probe scanners
- The ability to name jump clones
Read CCP karkur's latest blog U and I - Together we continue our little improvements to learn more those Little Things coming to New Eden with Phoebe!

So now I can D-scan using a different overview profile than my active one, rather than just no filters at all? That is truly awesome! If you look closely (or not so closely), you can actually already find that on TQ

The "The Rest" section of CCP karkur's devblog are actually things that have already been deployed to TQ in earlier releases (note, not "an earlier release" but rather "earlier releases"), they have just not been mentioned in devblogs before.
In fact you have to read
for all the goodies.

Harvey James wrote:jumpclone naming is already on TQ in the last update you did .... perhaps you mean the names will actually stay after you change JC's ?? No. I probably didn't make it clear enough that the last section is already out on TQ.
I've not written "this kind" of devblog since June I think, so there are a few things that we've added since then and have not told you guys about. I noticed that some people didn't know about those changes, so I figured I'd list them there.

I'll look into it... but I'm pretty sure it's because technically it is a new clone that is being created... but maybe we can do some magic

Can probably start with the siphon unit detection issue. Don't be silly There is a whole lot of very hard working people working on EVE, bringing us all sorts of great stuff all the time, and we all look good together, right?

Samira Kernher wrote:Thank you very much for all these little things! <3 C DeLeon wrote:Can we have a shortcut to use the scan button on d-scanner? Also, this. The thing with the d-scan shortcut is a bit tricky, since it seems to be so trivial to add. To be honest, I was about to add the shortcut at one point, but after talking to some people we decided not to go with it. It's a bit expensive on the server, and we don't want people to spam it. And I'm not talking about people purposefully spamming to bring the node down or anything like that. But if you have a shortcut, you can program your fancy keyboard to press it regularly, which we don't think is unlikely a bunch of people would do. So let's say you have done that, you are in a system where there is no one but you, and you would normally not be d-scanning regularly, but the keyboard is just doing its thing, and you keep scanning. Now let's say you have dozens of people in a fleet. Normally you would not have everyone in the fleet doing d-scans every 3 seconds (or whatever), but since they have programmed their keyboard to do that, they are, which can make the hamsters cry.
So basically, we are taking the safe approach here, and don't want to risk server performance by adding the shortcut as the system stands now. Hope that makes sense

Vincent Athena wrote:Wait, wait, wait. I thought designing game mechanics around bots was against CCP policy. I thought the way you dealt with bot users was to ban them. What's going on here? If someone uses an automatic keystroke entry system, you ban them. You do not make the rest of us suffer because of what they might do. We are not talking about designing game mechanics, we are talking about a UI change that could have much bigger consequences than you first might think. I'm not sure what our stance on fancy keyboard is to be honest.

IMHO: It's small stuff like this that's makes EVE better... No. We started with it that way, but decided to keep it simple to being with, see how that goes.
