Another Point. Most Anti-Pirates eventually scumb to the dark side and become Pirates.

I would argue "only those who can't hack it."
Which is sure to bring about a whole new round of flames

A good example of someone that can hack it is yourself , it's always a pleasure fighting your alliance , alot of good individual pilots , just shame about some of the tactics

My main was a mission runner for very long. Got tired of it and decided to become a bounty hunter. So far he has colected a 100k bounty and lost a cyclone and a tempest and he was used to making very good isk in lvl 4's.
Anyway, it's very hard to be a bounty hunter, as explained earlier, but if you can afford it... sure is worth it. Lot's of fun and great fights because you will always fight good pvpers. And you can hit a jackpot and pod a pirate with a 200 mil bounty on his head.
It's something players can look fwd to, but they should have very good skills, never panic and be very patiente.

I say fix the bounty system and it'll be worth being a bounty hunter/anti pirate. There just doesn't seem to be any isk in it as of now and almost noone will post a bounty; because you're basically just giving the pirate your isk as well as being killed. It's an imbalanced part of the game. In general it's high risk and low reward and I' not just talking about the risk of being killed, but also the grinding of tracking down a pirate and simply engaging him. It can take a good while if you appear to be a formitable foe. I remember once when I was in my jump clone and looking for a fair fight in an extra vexor it took me 3 or 4 hours to find someone that would fight that wouldn't have been a gank; which many were happy to try for.

Originally by: Requiescat anti-pirates claim so loudly and proudly. it's pretty obvious when someone is an anti-pirate.
pirates usually don't go parading it around like anti-pis do (though i do - see my sig, bio, title in game... :) ) but once you get a feel for it, it's pretty simple to tell the difference. anti-pirates can operate alone or with a corp of anti-pirates, though pirates mostly always work in a pirate corp. it's difficult to find a non-pirate corp who will allow piracy, in my experience, though i've been able to convince certain carebear corps that if i were to join and run security for their mining ops that i should be allowed to pirate on my off time :)
pirate corps don't always proclaim it in their information, but they usually say something about pvp. anti-pirate corp and usually most carebear corps will say that they are anti-pirate in their info.
hope that helps.
a lot of anti-pirates i know are on the contrary to this - of course you wouldn't notice. most good anti-pirates use gank fleets, ecm and lots of nos. we are not there to give you a good fight, just the satisfaction of giving you a bad unenjoyable fight and clearing you out of our area. |

We have some notorius old school pirates in our corp. Once they see the light they may leave but they always come back. They leave and return on a relatively regular basis. Many of our players subscribe to both ideals, it makes for quality pvp'ers.
Fact is being the 'good guys' in this game is bloody awkward and can make for some frustrating situations. We've been called everything under the sun by pretty much everyone in Eve but we still hold true to our ethic and it does pay off.
I wish the game did support the 'good guy' a bit more, dictors* in empire and stab nerfs would help.
*joke btw
