What your favourite scene in a film?
Mine has got to be in the film JFK, *yes i know alot of opinions on it* but that scene with Donald Sutherland and Kevin Costner in the park of the national monument in washington.
Its just brilliant, even if the conspiracy has split opinions you cant deny what donald sutherland says in that scene doesnt make sense.
Anyways whats ur's? -------------------------------------------------------- Forever Pirate

Its a great scene :D

Probably something from the end of Dr. Strangelove or something from V for Vendetta.
Can't think of anything in particular at the moment.
I'll upload a cool film scene though later, once this encoding is done.

So many.
When Agent Kujan realises Verbal Kint's told him one hell of a whopper in The Usual Suspects.
When Sarah Connor has the photo taken of her by the Mexican kid when she's thinking of Kyle Reece and it's the photo of her he had in the future and he always wondered what she was thinking about when the photo was taken. The Terminator.
One shot. The Deer Hunter.
When Jack Vincennes realises who the bad guy is in LA Confidential
Roy Batty's final words in Blade Runner
<whispers> "Miranda" Serenity
to name but a few.

Not my favorite film scene, but I thought it was pretty cool when Deunan Knute played Counter Strike with some "greens" and beats them after starting with nothing but a knife. 1 versus 12? No problem!

BUTCH: "Wait a minute - you didn't see Lefors out there did you?" SUNDANCE: "Lefors? No, why?" BUTCH: "Thank God for that. For a moment there I thought we were in trouble"
Then they dash out of cover, and the film freezes. OMG what an ending... --

Jacobs Ladder
Many scenes come to mind:
Jacobs friend the Chiropractor trying to put him at ease Eckhart saw Hell too. He said: The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, he said. They're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and... and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth.
After being wheeled through a hellish hospital strapped to a gurney Jacob Singer: Jezzie? Get me out of here. Evil Doctor: Where do you want to go? Jacob Singer: Home. Evil Doctor: Home? This is your home. You're dead. Jacob Singer: Dead? No. I just hurt my back, I'm not dead. Evil Doctor: What are you, then? Jacob Singer: I'm alive. Evil Doctor: Then what are you doing here? Jacob Singer: I don't know. [crying] Jacob Singer: Something's happening. Evil Doctor: What IS happening? Jacob Singer: Get me out of here. Evil Doctor: There is no out of here. You've been killed, don't you remember?
After his friend helps him and hes surrounded by the light outside almost like a halo Jacob: You know you look like an angel, Louie? Like an overgrown cherub. Anyone ever tell you that? Louis: [smiling] Yeah, you. Every time you see me. Jacob: You're a lifesaver, Louie. Louis: [smiling] Yeah, I know.
Loved that damn movie.

That is an awesome scene.
"This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-a-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

Half-Life 2, not really a movie I know, but still best scene's are in here.
S P O I L E R S AHEAD
"[first lines] G-Man: Rise and shine, Mr. Freeman. Rise and shine. Not that I wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job. No-one is more deserving of a rest. And all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well, let's just say your hour has come again. The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So, wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes. "
& Ending scene.
"[G-Man has just frozen time at the end of the game, finishes Alyx's phrase cut off in the process] G-Man: Time, Dr. Freeman? Is it really that time again? It seems as if you only just arrived. You've done a great deal in a small time span. You've done so well, in fact, that I've received some interesting offers for your services. [G-Man picks something off the frozen body of Alyx] G-Man: Ordinarily, I wouldn't contemplate them... but these *are* extraordinary times. [the world around Gordon fades away, into the familiar "Star Tram" from Half-Life 1] G-Man: Rather than offer you the illusion of free choice, I will take the liberty of choosing for you... if and when your time comes round again. I do apologize for what must seem to you an arbitrary imposition, Dr. Freeman. I trust it will all make sense to you in the course of... well... I'm really not at liberty to say. In the meantime... this is where I get off. [G-Man walks away from Gordon, adjusts his tie, and walks into a white opening]"

Yeah, there are certainly much worse introductions coming out of Hollywood these days. Not only was that thought out, it was playful, correct, and managed to show who V really was even though he's been going around killing and blowing things up. --- --- --- ---

I'm not as big a star wars fan as I was a few years ago, but the scene in A new Hope where Luke walks up to that mound of sand and looks up towards the twin suns of Tatooine, its just after his uncle tells him he cant leave for the academy until next year.
There is another scene similar to that one in episode 2 where you see Anakin travelling across the surface of tattoine on a swoop bike and you can see the twin suns setting in the background. -----------------------------

The opening of the origonal Star Wars film when the writing is fading away and the gentle music plays and the camera pans down to a peaceful looking world and....
BAM !!!
The Corrilian Corvette goes over head and it's big (remember the other sorts of ships seen in films of that time) and its shooting and then the Star Destroyer......
That ship just went on forever. A true feeling of power and fear generated by the shear size and deep thruster sound.
Fantastic.
The final moments of Roy Battys life in Blade Runner was also a wonderful sceane but for totally differant reasons.

yeah, of those mentioned I like those Blade Runner and Donnie Darko scenes.
Any scene with fps.Doug in it is usually good.
So many, one that comes to mind is the scene at the railway station in "Its a Wonderful Life", James Stewart postponed his ambition to go away to College, in order to mind the family business when his younger Brother got a sports scholarship; the family go to meet that Brother coming home from his studies, and JS is happy now its his turn to go to College - but the Brother brings his fiance whose Father has a great job for him. The camera close ups on Stewarts' face as he realises his Brother is going away again and his fate is never to get to College but to stay on in "smallville" and run the family business for life. Great acting, really poignant, simple little scene.
