I'm assuming it's just broken, but if it's not - please please please bring it back - at least toggled. It's one of the things I really enjoy about this game..

Sorry guys, I hated it then and I still hate it.
However, if there was an option like you state to disable the wind sound, I am all for that.

Bring back warp sound with toggle!
One of the first things (albeit a simple thing) that hooked me on EVE was the glorious rumble of my subs as I accelerated into warp. How dissapointed was I to see it silenced after the patch! This is as great an affront on the sub-rumbling-warp-sound-lovers community as was the removal of the chili cheese burrito from the menu at Taco Bell!!!

Bring it back, this isnt a perfect simulator its still a video game. Sounds improve it, just brings up the cool factor a bit.
Its lame that you didnt even give your paying users the option, you just removed it. whats next. Oh we dont like asteroids, those are gone too. Your patches are turning into downgrades and cause more issues than ever before.
Return the sounds, make the game more enjoyable
A tin can with guns is better than a pod with micro warp drive....wait. |

while i agree it was a cool sound for the first 500 times that i heard it, it can be really hard to hear instructions or talk on teamspeak while theres a loud roaring explosion of make belive air ripping around my ship that i cant disable without disableing all sound.

Indeed, I very much miss the sound entering / leaving warp, I think this was mentioned in a 'known issues' post following the last patch I believe, but bring it back asap please, EvE feels kinda broken without it.
A toggle warp sound on/off sounds  like an excellent idea too.

.... it was said about 4 or 5 times that it was a KNOWN BUG. They broke it. Presumably, if it's a bug, it will be fixed, though knowing CCP's track record, they'll wait until 6 months from now to fix it (remember magically disappearing local?). That is, IF they decide to fix it instead of deciding that the best fix for bugs is to introduce new, more annoying ones to distract people from the bugs that have needed fixing for a very long time. In the mean time, we'll call it a 'feature.'
In summary... you don't need to sign this petition because a) CCP admits they accidently broke it, so they're going to fix it and b) they probably don't care about petitions, given (again) their track record of deleting backlogged petitions (pun) and acting like they never happened.

As far as simlulations go, warp space rumbles are realistic because there is atmosphere inside the ship that would convey sound waves. The wind tunnel now. thats a bit far fetched. I wouldn't mind the wind tunnel gone, and the warp accel/decel sound present. I know, I'm an idiot, taking this a little too far :P
Im sure we would all like to see a more complex sound config menu. I hate not being able to turn sound fx down separately.
This is all moot anyway though. thx for the info Pheonix. |

As others have said, I used to get chills hearing the warp bubble forming/holding/collapsing too.. and it made things sound so much more real and deep.
So please! I do hope it Does turn out to just be a bug..

Yeah, we definitely need some kind of sound there to let me know that I'm coming out of warp, lest I get nuked. I enjoyed sitting at my desk feeling the roar of the warp tear through my room. At the very least, put a new sound effect in!

It said it there on the 26th. Now it's in the patch notes: "The missing warping sound effect has returned." |
