I¦m not sure why that people feel that unless x is done y number of potential players will leave.
iirc current subs rate is 140000 or roughly 100000 more than when I first started playing Eve.
I remember the days when there¦s be 4 or 5000 people on line US time, there¦s now 15000+.
Eve deliberately targets a mature audience that doesn¦t necessarily want a ¦quick-fix¦ of which there are bucketloads.
Ask yourself this, how many throwaway, ¦quick-fix¦ games are released per year as opposed to ones with a bit of meat to them?
Quote: And the EIB scam makes me sick, since CCP won't do anything. Why should I keep playing to grind money for the next ship when I can just RMT it or steal it from other people? The game to me just has no advancement model I can enjoy since I could just as well act unethically and get the same advantage
I find it strange that the argument ¦why should I continue to grind cash when it will get scammed off me¦ even exists. If you know it¦s a scam why give the money away, if you even suspect it¦s a scam why give anyone else your isk?
And actually the EIB scam and many scams previous to it have attracted a large amount of people to the game, making it doubly difficult to quantify if it has a positive or detrimental effect. Given the media coverage following EIB, I suspect positive.
Lastly with regards isk, isk is a means to an end, some people want huge amounts in their wallet, others are happy to live on a more day-to-day basis. If you feel after 6 months you¦re still not at a point where you have enough for skills then I¦m perhaps you haven¦t looked at all your options.
Trading, mining, npcing, complexes, pvp, pirating, bounties, missions, scamming, shares, industry, investment, R & D and I¦m sure a lot more are available to players.
Surely there¦s something in there that can make you the isk you require.
Quote: are you for real? The newbie implants are worth what for new players? And you're presuming all their fittings, ship and clones, insurance, ammo etc. will be 100% reimbursed by the newb's corp. Presuming they are in a corp that doesn't just treat them as mules.
Participating in 1 BS kill in 0.0 pretty much pays for all of the above.
