Edited by: Jack Brimstone on 28/08/2006 22:54:10 If I may presume to give the OP some advice.
I really don't know why people make announcements like this, surely it would be better to selectively engage your pirate enemies, perhaps choosing initially the less powerful ones to give your members experience, then moving on and upping the challenge as you go.
If you actually do become a force for good in low sec, and god knows, it could do with one, as dedicated anti-pirate corps (as in those who actively seek out outlaws) are very few, then people will know about it without announcements.
Unfortunately all announcements like this tend to achieve is to paint a rather large bullseye on you for any pirate corps that happen to be bored.
Also, you might want to reconsider the "defence of innocents" part, because, frankly, you can't. You can be a force of retribution, but not one of protection.

Edited by: Nyabinghi on 08/09/2006 11:52:53 Wish you all the best. I suggest aligning your efforts with other corps like yourselves and liberating low sec empire (Amamake would be nice) and not bothering with 0.0 for now. Not unless you want to get into politics. Of course Providence is a virtual pirate hunting ground and I'm sure a number of corps and alliances wouldn't mind a hand in cleaning up the area. However it's a lot easier to arrange safe passage in and out of a .4 than it is to 0.0 and back to Empire (i.e. no bubbles).

Hi Destiny, our corporations seem to have very similar goals. We provide general protection in a .4 system. We are a small corp and only have enough people to focus on one system at this time. We also provide specific protection services to other corporations that do mining operations for small fee. We are based in Abudban area. Hit us up if you're around. I think it's important for corps with similar goals as ours to work together if we are going to be successful.

The key is not to threaten before you have grown, it is to grow and become renowned, and then have the power of threatening.
Look at strawberries! They taste good when their ripe, juicey, and in your bowl, but eating the stalk is ikky.
Its one and the same.
Yes, I am comparing your "Freespacer" idea to strawberries.

The problem with posts like this is that no one defines what exactly defines terror. And arguing with these "anti-pirates" is a lesson in futility because to accept their premise is to accept an ideology as fact.
Just look at it this way - the Amarr consider the Minmatar rebels as nothing but terrorists, as pirates subjugating their supply lines, disrupting their workforce. The Minmatar see these same acts as freedom fighters.
What difference is there in the anti-pirates who wish to enforce their own laws over another people? You might see me blow up another ship in low-sec, but who is to say that my target did not constitute a threat to my assets, my members that don't have the ability to survive an attack.
Your premise, sir, is simply invalid. If you want to fight in low-sec, I'm all for it. If you want to fight people who you don't know only because of some CONCORD attributed color on their ships, go for it - but don't do it under the false banner of 'honor' and 'justice'. CONCORDS laws have no basis in low-sec - security status is just their attempt at politicing away freedom. _______________ Pwett CEO and Founder [QTC]QUANT |

Edited by: Nyabinghi on 14/09/2006 18:09:42 Since a system like Amamake is a through point for pilots who are either in a corp under the wing of the Minmatar Republic or a player corp or otherwise traveling law abiding citizen that operates in Minmatar space and thus falls under protection of the Minmatar Republic via local Concord law enforcement it makes sense that the Minmatar Republic should take interest in the safety of pilots in and out of said system. However the Republic is rather shall we say lazy in maintaining order along it's borders. Corporations that decide to take the initiative to create a safe enviroment for law abiding citizens in a low sec system should be applauded. Unfortunatly Concord is rather primitive in deciding what constitutes unlawful behaviour and so you will find for example the criminal protected and the good citizen punished.
Again I wish you luck. Note however that most pirates will not receed to 0.0 as they are often not welcomed there either. The real reason piwates want to takeover Unity: HERE

Fear the anti-pirate...
From what I can tell, being an anti-pirate involves huge blobs, lots of stabs and ECM, and copious amounts of local Smack-talk when they don't outnumber their targets 3:1...

Its true that many anti-pirates are new to PvP, and thus no real match for more experienced PvP pirates (and most experienced PvPers turn to piracy at some point due to the sheer boredom factor).
However, it is also true to say that many pirates don't really have the first clue about PvP either. They gank. They select easy to kill targets for profit. Nothing wrong with that of course, but to call themselves true PvPers is delusion, as true PvPErs will fight those equipped for PvP.
This is what anti-pirates do. They are selective with their targets and fight those who are actually equipped for fighting.
A shame then, that for many anti-pirates, the only tactic they understand is Smack & BlobÖ. I do not rate many anti-pirates, but then they have a hard time. A good pirate, with a good ship, well honed tactics, safespots etc... is very hard to catch.
The work of an anti-pirate can be rewarding but it requires patience.
As for me, I kill pirates, anti-pirates, miners, NPCers... whatever. What does that make me?

A well noble cause ... albeit a bit of a mythologically infinite and pointless struggle to try and bring anti-piracy to lowsec ... God knows many ppl have tried (myself included) ... but it takes a LOT of people and a lot of readyness to engage, and cooperation and a good information and early warning system to pull it off ... keeping one system or a constellation clear of pirates is one thing and it is doable (to a certain degree) ... to make lowsec pirate-free or keep the 'innocents' safe ... not very likely to happen ...
I'm not trying to mock you ... just pointing out the difficulites ... a smart pirate will stay above -4.9 ... which means he'll be in a better position then you ... anyone is his target ... you have to make sure you don't shoot a friendly or 'innocent' as you call them ... he knows who he wants to kill and if he can kill him ... you have to verify him as a pirate first ... if he stays above -4.9 YOU have to tank the sentries if you want to kill him ... in belts he does the first strike ... not you ... once you start doing what you have planned you will notice that ppl with -10 and huge bounties and pepole that are obvious pirates do not loiter around waiting for you to find them ... they jump in ... jump a belt ... kill ... loot ... safespot and then hop around till their counter is clear and dissapear ... which gives you not so much time to react, find, probe, engage and kill ... The ones that are not very visible as pirates you will only notice once someone is dead ... which means it's 1:0 for them ... the likelyhood of you making it to 1:1 is slim if you don't have a good comms channel with the locals ... and a force large enough to lock it down ...
Anyways good luck ... and make sure you are blue before going .0 to hunt :) ...
PS: sorry about the dotty typing ... just the way I do it ... ;) <img src=http://www.futilezombie.com/killboard/sig.php?playerId=6> <img Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou are crunchy and go well with ketchup ... |

I have got to say, Sovereign533 is right, your idea while possibly righteous is severly flawed and possibly why no one has done this before.
How will you dicide who is right and who is wrong, how will you know what has gone on the past between corps or corp members, what if they have negative standing to one another, is that then ok cause something is going on and you wont get involved?
If you go down this route you will soon find yourself overwhelmed by teritorial grudges, individual disagreements and other equaly unqualifiable arguments. Effectively you have no option but to become a merc corp and if that is what you are or want to do, you could have just said so from the start
While my char would be one of those ones you say cannot stand up for themselves, that is why I am in a corp living in low sec space, my corp mates protect me and I provide to the corp in other ways.
While I am not a pirate I do also see there great contribution to EVE
