Hi spacepilots.
I noticed a lot of my old friends and "knowing faces" just gone form EvE during last two - three years, this was one of meny reason that i stop play it to, im still pay monthy fee and swiching skills but im burnt - exhausted form EvE like them... i play since 2007 during years meny friends leave form game but there still eve fans, well average number of players online its fine and stable but there is somthing wrong, in general there more jung - fresh pilots than old veteras, im my opinion CCP should do somthing that keep people longer because with this trend things just go wrong, in my opinion its very importand to keep people inside game so long as possible.
Other reason why, CCP should care about old players, because new players like to play wiht somone who got expirence and still care. " its like removing Guru form temple and after this all students lose faith and sense to stay "
Maybe? add more content, boosting thier motivation, make feeling that they are realy core of this game, make them that they realy importand to other and this virtual wold.
Why meny old players just stop playing EvE?
Because EvE is less hardcore like before? Because to much wired changes that old players dont like ? EvE its to easy? because EvE is to shiny? Because meny skills just lose own role and people like to spent like 2min long to get enemy ship signal while scaning and they were proud of train some skillt to lv5 even they got zero impant on efficienty?
Maybe because CCP broke own motto that said EvE is harsh and dark place while isynt so much like before, designed for people who like shiny arcade elements and more cool stuf,
Or maybe there was nothing fresh and new for them, and these Professors who study and know EvE form A to Z just got bored, these question just atack my mind almost everyday.
Chers and fly safe.
If it bleed we can kill it.

Wow..an EVE is dying post, with more then 3 words in it....but still an EVE is dying post. But this also includes a Grrr high-sec buffs and Grrr easy mode in it.
I know plenty of veterans in EVE, some WAY older then you that still have fun playing.
If you and your friends are bored, it's your own damn fault...It's a sandbox, go do something that you have fun doing.

also I heard roumers that phoebe actually caused a good number of vets to start coming back. So if that true, we will see an influx of old faces as null changes over the next few months

I see a lot of vets get stuck doing just one thing......they have no idea about what else EvE has to offer and they just sit around being bored. Maybe it's from fear of having a long employment history or maybe it's just human nature to find somewhere comfortable and stay there.
In no particular order: Highsec Wars Suicide Ganking Contract Scams Awoxing Solo Class 1-3 wormhole adventures Group Wormhole adventures Class 1-6 Just straight up finding wormholes to harass Being in a power bloc Being a pet Being a renter Being a roleplayer Beating on roleplayers Being in a small-gang PvP corporation Being a highsec dweller Being a lowsec dweller Running your own industrial operation from mining to research and manufacturing Faction Warfare Storyline Work Missions for nullsec NPCs Exploration Being a gatecamper Living on a lowsec island Living on a Highsec Island Pretending to be a noob procurer and then giving people the buttseks Being a forum troll Being a petition troll(dangerous) Running a noob training corporation Running an Alliance
These are all things anybody can do within the next month but most people will just sit in their comfy chair whining about how EvE became boring at 100m SP.
Do you have it?

To eliminate TL:DR, Elitism is the biggest killer in eve. First, players get bored. Eve was too small. Yay this latest patch. Eve had stagnated. Idid most everything and nothing excited me. I am getting back in more regular. The Elitism refers to how vet play was everybody seemed expected to me a multiboxer with farming alts. Of course things will stagnate when minimum requirements are fsction fit incursion ships or T3 Minimum fleet ships. Suddenly is boring or repetitive. Some thrive on that and others quickly drop fleet. My best times in eve as a vet tend to be myself and other vets working with scores of new player. Forget the killboard efficiency and win. Dang we are 60% and lost 5x as many ships? who cares if won. |

There are a zillion reasons older players drop in and out of the game.
All CCP has to do is come through with a good, diverse sov system, new starbase system, and the player built gates. CCP said this is happening. They're obviously serious about it this time. The changes are coming and they've been great. All they have to do is follow through. You'll see a lot of inactive players coming back. I guarantee it. |

They are ever so temperamental and will throw a tantrum at the slightest poke at their gameplay. You have to ease them into the future one little baby step at a time. And even that may cause a dreaded threadnaught to erupt due to their delicate sensitivities.

Restart the recall scheme asap. The vets can pull older players in more effectively than patch resub mails. Ideally allow sending a short personal message to the person they recall and the option to set the notification public/private so others can monitor, but institute a hard cap of requests p/m so the recepient isn't mail-spammed.
Also, free stuff. Hand it over CCP! We should get shinies on our character birthdays, regardless of whether they were subbed for the entire period. They don't have to be particularly valuable, tbh they could be non-tradable or part of the decoration system.
I like to be held firmly from behind whilst bent over a desk. Or garden furniture. I think a lot of EvE players share this preference but prefer to pretend they tripped. Speak for youself Epeen.
DON'T BE RIDICULOUS!
