SO we're getting named wormhole system with an NPC station upcoming... "like jita without concode"
What should the system & station be called, suggestions?
CCP - really called "Thera", shouldn't the wormhole community have a say?

Did any capsuleers get a say on the names of any other systems? No.

Why? I think you know why. Furthermore: who cares?
Lets just hope this new system creates excitement and content. From what I've seen so far in the past few weeks it appears that CCP is making real changes to WH space that may actually increase the population. That would be really cool, and I know that there are MANY people who have been pushing for this for a long time.
Here's hoping for the best.

I'm leaning Towards "Butt Hurt Overhere" would be a nice system name.
The names fine, as this is just one of the systems they are releasing (there are more).

Fozzie did mention "its been there all along" heh but I'd be surprised if it was the case, its possible though as they seem to be going a different direction with the game at the moment and tearing up some of the old "rules".
EDIT: Actually the sleeper lore gives another possibility where you'd be both correct and incorrect at the same time if they've gone down that route - it ties into what The Mirror was supposedly originally about I believe. |

No actually Thera is the name of the island now known as Santorini. It used to be a huge volcane until it had an explosive eruption that is suspected to have wiped the minoan culture.
Also if you look up the lore we already know that the Sleepers are one of the ancient races that most likely date their lineage back to earth. Their connection to the talocan and their travel technology would rather lead towards this being a hint towards that the closing of the eve gate might not have been such an accident after all? Pure speculation ofc. Others will know these aspects of the lore better than me.
As for naming the system I suspect this system was named by the sleepers themself? Considering their sudden appearence in kspace gathering research material about our current empires. Maybe we get sleeper level 4 missions. And grindibg rep/lp with the sleepers are needed for certain key bpc's for stargate production

I actually think the name is really good.
It encompasses the trading empire, the destruction of growing stable civilisations leading to a different path of development.
If it had survived, We would live in a world without the roman empire, the development of slavery through conquest , militarisation of governments, the concept of conquering the known world, and instead have a completely different path set for humanity.
So Thera exists as a concept now?

Thera is named after something cool, a real place called Thera. Letting players name it would likely end up with some really stupid name, like Bob or PinkPleasureSock. |

Nope because in my opinion Thera isnt a wh system. You access it through wh's from kspace with the possibility of a wondering hole that may lead to WH space or not. I just hope this isnt a test to allow the construction of stations in wh's |
