I Would also like some kind of station activity, how about making stations into 3d chat rooms, with isotromic views? each stations could have diffrent rooms, bars, disco, lounges and so on, where you could walk around and talk.. mabye even buy your own apartment? decorate it? buy different stuff for your character, jevely and so on?
This could also add for player owned stations, in diffrent sizes.. player owners could then expand their "station" with diffrent modules, cacino, exotit dancers, bars, lounges, and so on.. players could dock and go enhoy them self.. mabye even make it possible for players to advertise on the inboard billboards? ofcource it cost isk!
Before I respond to this quote, I'd like to give my two cents on the MMOG/MMORPG discussion. Umm, I'm pretty sure this game is intended to have role-playing elements considering there are forums on this website that REQUIRE you to speak and act in character. Not to mention, how there is a plethora of stories and background of the EVE universe on this website. But I think CCP can do a better job, which brings me to Savio's post. I really like the idea of more detailed station activity. I know this would take a while to develop, but it would be worth it.
I feel so disconnected from the EVE Universe most of the time. Right now I could care less about the Quafe Company, the relations between the Minmater and Gallente, or stories of famous NPC's. I just want to make money and get better ships. This was one the few things I liked about WoW (sorry to mention such blasphemy) better than EVE. I felt like my character was part of a story, like I was making an effect on the world (even thought I wasn't really). I think part of this was due to the fact that the people giving me quests actually had a character. Meaning they had a face, body, movements, voices, personality, emotion, something we could relate to. In comparison the Agents on EVE just have a little pic, and regurgitate the same mission to you over and over. The storyline missions are a little better, but I still feel there's something missing.
I think if our characters, and agents actually had avatars that walked and talked, it would add alot of immersion to the game. It doesn't have to be super detailed. Just something simple for starters.
