Smash/Roadkill attacking Ratel in TDE has been quite enjoyable and also useful. Working in theoreticals is nice but actually getting to apply a wide variety of defensive strategies to see what works and what doesn't and what are the most effective is nearly priceless. Having an opponent that's not a serious threat to take the system and no threat at all to actually be able to hold the system makes the training much more relaxing as well.
The biggest question in my mind is why though. Smash and Roadkill have already lost more assets operating in the area than it would have taken them to build their own outpost and they're still no closer to realizing a military victory than when they started. I guess it's just more fun to try it this way. Anything that gives me an excuse to not mine is fine by me :P
I'm definitely looking forward to the new wrinkles Smash/Roadkill and their two hired mercenary groups (Executive Outcomes and Turbulent Subversion) can throw at us.

To answer some questions.
Yes we ARE getting paid to war dec SMASH Alliance. As I stated to the leadership when they contacted us, this has absolutly nothing to do with who we were with. Our reputation as good pilots brought this job to us. Anyone who has flown with or against us will say the same.
Now did Smash Alliance defeat Black flag Alliance...no. We pulled out on our own accord and it had more to do with internal issues with ratel then it did smash. BFA pilots had no problem fighting SMASH, but with myself stepping down as leader of BFA and VLINC shutting it's doors it was a prudent step to pull out and regroup...one I would have made if I were in charge and one that I suggested after I stepped down. Do not under estimate the pilots who are still within the ranks of BFA, because they are just as good as the ones which left.
SMASH Alliance members. Your leaders know the details of our contract. If you wish to make assumption's without 100% of the information then that is your shortfall. Talk to your leadership before making comments that are obviously not true. All you are accomplishing by posting assumtions is making your alliance look like you have poor communication and/or poor intelligence reporting. I know some of your leadership and I can say this is not true but for those who read this and don't know...can they say the same? Being professional is a major key to success.
