----------------- 2006.08.26 08:07 Fallout Industries has declared war on SMASH Alliance. After 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved. -----------------
Fallout Industries have been contracted against Smash Alliance. Fighting will begin later today. I hope all pilots on both sides have a good time.

also...must these contracts really be announced? Such announcements dont seem to add much but oh well i guess any publicity is good for business. _______________________________________________ The above comments & views do not reflect the opinions of Cosmic Odyssey or Chorus of Dawn; just those of an enlightened member |

Well unfortunatly I won't be able to take part in this contract because I will be away on business but I am sure my guys will take it anywhere the enemy is. We look forward to the combat. Delt with you guys in the past and hope things haven't changed. Once everything is said and done maybe we can swap fraps and make some swet movies with both points of view...would be fun.

Actually like the announcement. Gives you an idea about what merc corps are currently active, the scope / size of contracts they are willing to accept -- and whether they follow-up with success and failure reports ;-)

Exactly, Merc's gain contracts mainly by news of succesful campaigns, that way prospective clients can see who the merc's have been contracted against and the kind of campiagns fought. A Merc corps is only as good as its last success or failure. By announcing such contracts a merc corp is essentailly saying look at what we are about to/are doing- we could do this for you !!!
Anyway back to the OP
I would say Good Luck Jonis and crew, but knowing you guys you make your own luck, at this moment I actually feel sorry for the SMASH pilots MERC999 Public Relations Director TBSV Keeping Empire and Syndicate ship builders in business |

I'm wondering if they got a discount for contracting themselves.... Given that this 'merc' corp was formed out of the remains of what SMASH took down barely 2 weeks ago....

Given how as we were approached recently to quote for a campaign against a "Certain" alliance or three I think this is probably a genuine contract.
We declined to quote as we are already under contract for the next few weeks
Also , while I have never been in Jonis's previous corp, I know a lot of pilots who have or are close to it, and the way it's told to me by ALL about the breakup its down to Real Life issues and internal polotics not anything done by SMASH or ayone else. and talking to me these folks have absolutly no reason to lie about it. so claiming to have "taken down" it has no foundation at all as far as I can see.

SMASH has haulers running up and down from Gallente space to Jita, and on to Aldik, and Eurgrana. Also SMASH players are doing missions in the Aunia/Dodixie/Auvengne systems. So there are plenty of SMASH in empire.

Ok, well 1 week ago, I was sitting there watching you guys withdraw your assets, after you had surrendered... Took a whole 2 days for you to come to that decision... Now you've left an alliance, reformed a corp, and are attacking in empire fresh off a 0.0 withdrawal.
So maybe SMASH just attacked at a bad time for you, and you couldn't deal with us as well as internal problems. I do know several CEO's from within the alliance who could certainly vouch for the lack of organisation.
Perhaps my point was lost, regardless of whether SMASH was responsible or not, you have reason to want to attack us, payment or not. As opposed to most of the established merc corps who wouldn't bother unless they were paid.
I'm sure there has been at least one alliance recently seeking contracts against SMASH and co. I'm just surprised that they haven't: - Hired some one earlier - Hired someone to help them in 0.0 - Had enough budget to hire someone larger...
On the other hand, it's not like you've established yourselves as trustworthy, after gaining generous conditions of surrender and then turning around and declaring war when it best suits you.
Still, good luck to you. Hope you scare the remaining handful of the alliance out into 0.0. Who knows, next time it might be worth declaring war on ourselves, as so far it's only had a positive effect on our campaign.

We do so love Mujun; everytime he opens his mouth we cheer.
Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was it destroyed in one. As far as we're concerned, with the exception of one incident everything is going to plan or better, and Ratel is equallly as confident and determined. This fight is fairly evenly matched man-power wise, so until Ratel is evicted or SMASH withdraws how about we just lay off the smack agree that all bets are off and try end enjoy ourselves?
BTW: Tell Kerc Kasha that he owes me an unloaded convo when this is all over...the bastard nearly caught me off-guard.

Wondered why he was left defending the place alone... It's been more advantageous to make the station useless and keep RATEL paying for all the POS upkeep, than to take the station. After all, the station is simply a death trap at the moment.
There is plenty of space in the region, and it's a shame that Black Flag has gone back on our agreement, as there was once a place for them in our plans for the region. We don't expect our allies to help us and then do nothing ourselves, as others seem to.
SMASH did begin this whole thing half heartedly, we didn't need the station, or any space, we didn't even want it that much. But recent developments in other space we occupy and with this war dec, means that we have more reason than ever to push forward.

This makes me chuckle. The day the war dec went out someone asked on vent if Rome or Unknown Shoe had actually hired the mercs to chase everyone out of empire.

Ratel doesn't post much on these forums, because, welp, we dont yap yap, thats why. Anyhows, I will say this...
I've been fighting you guys(the ones in Rome) in one form or another for damn near 3 years. From the very first "Spartan Industrial" war before bs's came out to now. Anyhows, morale is good, kills are flowing, and that's more important than anything else. So now you have two alliances that are pretty nasty guerilla fighters. Having lots of fun, hope you are as well gents. ______________________

I figured I should post here since I have an "honorable" mention or two. And yeah I am a ***** to deal with but so far RATEL has went from a new alliance with little experience working together to one who is holding our own against...well lets see...3 alliances (SMASH, Roadkill and Executive Outcomes (never heard of these guys but out of the blue they war dec us)) and 1 corporation (Turbulent Subversion (again never heard of these guys....they must be working for the same people that hired Executive outcomes)).
Has the fighting been fun...you bet. Has the smack in local been good...well the petitions from both sides are flying for language in local. Has the politics been deep...deeper than most and just as dramatic.
Is RATEL going to win...well this is the kicker I am so ******* arrogant that I am going to say yes. Do I really believe this you can count on it. This is also one of the biggest problems that people have referred to as I will do what I have to do to get people to fight. Am I ever sorry for what I have said or what I have to do...yes, but if I have to do it again I will that you can count on.
Does SMASH-KILL think they are going to win this...of course they do. After all they have only had "four" set backs so far. Sure we have lost a carrier or two but I am looking forward to adding the rest of the SMASH-KILL dreads to my killboards.
You girls keep on doing what you think to take us out cause I will keep on doing what I have to do to keep you from your goal. Your latest tactic of trying to setup a couple of POS in a system 2 jumps away at a choke point to try and stop us is not origianl...maybe for you guys it is but again we will do what we must.
RATEL WILL WIN THIS! All that is left is for SMASH-KILL to realize this and move on. Of course there is one thing we do have in common I am an arrogant **** and so is SMASH-KILL...we both dont know when to stop or when its over.
Oh and so we are clear I posted the kill mails from their dreads for two reasons. First I think its damned funny that they thought we would not be able to do what we did. And second, before Executive Outcomes was hired these dread kills were removed from SMASH killboards. It must have been a clerical error so I posted them here so they can add them back to their boards.
