The Arbitrator is one of my favorite ships. It's got a versatile slot layout, a bonus to drone damage & durability, and an ample drone bay to carry spares. But, as much as I like the ship, it's bonus to drone damage seems...out of place. It's an EWAR cruiser, not a combat cruiser.
So I got to thinking: why not change the drone damage bonus to a drone EWAR effectiveness bonus? It'd lose much of it's damage potential, yes, but it's versatility as a pure EWAR cruiser would be considerably increased.
Well, the obvious answer to this question, to me at least, is not just "no" but "HELL NO!" I think this would be an incredibly powerful bonus and simply out of place on a vanilla T1 cruiser. Not to mention, it would disrupt the EWAR balance among the 4 races.
But what about using it somewhere else?
With the existing lore behind Mordu's Legion, I always found it rather odd that their capsuleer ships have a bonus to warp disruption range instead of other forms of EWAR. Given that they are the nemesis of the Guristas, why not change the warp disruption range bonus on Mordu's ships to a drone EWAR effectiveness and durability bonus (along with an appropriate buff to their drone bandwidth/bays)? It'd be an interesting counter to Guristas ships lore-wise, plus it'd finally fill the gap (no ECM, target painting, tracking disruption) present in the faction ship EWAR lineup.

I thought recons should get drone EWAR bonuses as the drones currently on them are about as useful as post-phoebe capitals defender missiles... Besides, to some degree, on the curse. T1 cruisers should however stay as a damage/ewar hybrid IMO because it's more likely to be used by small corps/new players with less of a budget and no space to remove a whole ship worth of dps for ewar. But I'd like to see it on the recons that are 100% dedicated ewar ships anyway.

since its their racial natural bonus.
that will actually bosst the T1 crusiers. and it migth b posible to extend the bonus towards the T2 Crusiers "RECONS" |

I thought about that actually, but doing so would require a balance pass on the T1 EWar cruisers' drone attributes. Not the end of the world mind you, but it seems like a lot more effort than the benefit gained. I'm certainly not opposed to it though.

Kind of agree with the first reply, maybe this is something for the cloakless Recons? Maybe even the Caldari ones given their lack of secondary ewar (I know lore but whatever).
Arbitrator is all kinda of funky, dunno why you'd want to break it.

I thought the reason nobody used EWAR drones is that they have DR on themselves. So by the time you get to the 5th drone, it really isn't doing anything.
Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

Taking this into consideration:
Maybe have Mordu's ships work like Guristas ships: give them a huge bonus to EWAR effectiveness and durability, but limit their bandwidth so they can only use two at a time. This would overcome the stacking penalty issue and allow EWAR drones to actually be somewhat useful.
