At this point there are many options to choose from, and I'm assuming CCP has already taken this under consideration. However, this threads intent is to drive up some player Ideas and popular opinions from all across the spectrums. Things to consider when choosing names: Obsurity - naming the releases after the 13 gnomes of the garden of disney world may not be the best option given it isnt something known broadly enough (regardless of its rediculousness) Pronunciation - If you choose to use old norse names like "+Porger+¦r H+¦lgabr+¦+¦r" (Don't ask, I don't know) you may find some difficulty in getting traction behind it Themes - The naming system does not necessarily need to be derived from deities or mythology. It could be named after the top 7 tallest mountins in the world, or your favorite animal genus (don't suggest lion, already taken and lawsuits are expensive) Existing names - The titan line surely stepped on the toes of a few ship names. This may be something you want to avoid entirely or embrace completely. Your choice. Relevance to lore - Bonus points if you can tie the names into the story line or with existing culture from the game Just drop the name of the category and a list of the names in your post, a short description of why (I think its cool is technically an explanation, but not very helpful). If you decide to suggest the next 30 expansion names, please truncate to your favorites, and maybe include a link to the rest of the list. I'll suggest one to start us off. Theme is disorder. Makes sense with all the meddling the SOE have done reading through old tomes searching through wormholes: EVE Online: Hastur (This release will be very vague. It may not even be a release at all. All capsuleers will be compelled to search for the mythical system of Carcosa.) Very creepy. EVE Online: Shub-Niggurath (An equally disturbing release, which will introduce a new hacking mechanic which will allow for capsuleers to take control of an opponents drones and use them against the ship which launched them.) Considering one must be on voice comms and chanting the prayer to great Goat of the Woods for this to work; this will be an interesting mechanic. EVE Online: Dagon (Turns out the Sleepers, are really a race of weird sea dwelling creatures from earths past. They're kinda pissed we've been raiding their s* for the last few years and now they've decided to invade Gallente space.) This release is also cool as it will introduce the new "living asteroid" feature. The tagline for this release will be: "EVE Dagon, this time the asteroids mine you!" and of course... EVE Online: Cthulhu** (This will be the ultimate trip down insanity lane. Cosmic Sig's will now scan you down! If you try and warp off to another site...you will land back at the entrance to the crummy data site, that drops horrible loot. You'll basically just have to run the site, and hope another one doesn't find you.) I figure this will also be a MEGA - EXPANSION with a new class of ship. "The Old One" will basically be a SUPER - TITAN, which can only exist in a hi-sec, and have unlimited hit points. The biggest plus of this release is you will finally be able to play EVE Online in the Captains Quarters on the wall monitor, or DUST 514 if you're into that whole FPS dealio.
