Eve is an amazing game with alot of content, but theres still alot of environments missing from it.
Now im clearly not a miner or a business orientated character, but there are two main environments and a ship class i would love to have a more personal role in eve.
Nebulae, Gas Giants & Cloud Harvesters.
A not so simple addition im sure, but we know of irl that is so many different environments and really only open space and asteroid belts are shown to us.
I mean if chased by a blob or just being chased it would be nice if we didnt need to just safe spot a more active and creative way of hidding would be kool, hiding in the upper atmosphere of a gas giant.
Ive seen some amazing graphics with the Complexes from eve videos they look like the badlands in Voyager and really the only people that see them are the mission runners and well carebears.
I would love to see these take on a larger role within the pvp aspect of the game. To encourage more fighting there would be to encourage more riches to be gained from them.

Flying around in a nebula would be cool.. a large scale one (that would take up a whole system or even constellation). None of those crappy gasclouds you see in missions.
I'd also like to see asteroid belts that go all the way around a star. The current eve asteroid belts don't even deserve to be called that imo.

I would love to be able to hide in the bad lands instead of cloaking at a SS or hopping safespots. Now there is nothing wrong with those options but they are only 2 really effective options besides the good ol' logging off for a few hours.
I too believe there would be a new diminsion to PvP and it would make EVE that much better.

It's at least planned - a sticky thread somewhere exists called "Tactical Environments" (features sub-forum i guess), and also see the drawingboard. _____________________________ - be excellent to each other -

Sounds like a lot of that's coming in Kali, anyway. There was certainly mention of cloud harvesting for 0.0 COSMOS.

CCP would have to fix up the gfx/code/whatnot of the cloud graphics, they take up way too much cpu, and a full screen is teh screenlag. --------------------------------------

How about taking it even further?
You could hide in a Nebula (like the Mutara Nebula in Star Trek II - The Wrath of Kahn), where sensors and shields are useless.
Imagine your scanner not working at all. You would have to visually acquire enemy ships to shoot at!
Imagine different environments where localized EM Radiation renders shields useless, or acid clouds eat away at your armor over time.
That would make battles very interesting! __________

Yeah i know its guna be hard to implement but Eve is a 'Universe' and with such a massive wealth of environments not only in are sector but the entire spiral arm theres just too much missing from eve.
Stop making new ships make new environments!! -------------------------------------------------------- Forever Pirate

they need to have it where you can see the inside of your ship, like the bridge and so forth, i kno it will take a lot of graphics but it is an idea, it would attract much more people to the game of eve.

Mmm, gas giant harvesting. I could handle having a Bespin-style Cloud City. ^_^
And as for nebulae and such: Woo! That'd be great.
But, one thing, could we stop the stars twinkling and get some systems that didn't have massive dust clouds?

Agreed, a simple 160000km is prolly the closest u get to a planet or a moon with POS mining it.
First time i played eve i went on the map and looked at all the stories behind the local phenomina (cant spell) the Big black hole near the outskirts of the matar region and the story behind the Lai Dai's failer of there bio-tech division ruining an enire system. Same thing with freelancer id look at the amazing stories behind planets and stella phenomenon and i like that to be included to into eve.
I dont see why we cant have stations placed on a moon \ planet with the station environment reflecting the planets backdrop. Im hungry for more of this I mean the asteriod belts in eve are hardly anything to shout about, Freelancer has some fantastic features altho granted its single player. -------------------------------------------------------- Forever Pirate

just like to add since i recieve two eve mails wondering where i found out the history of some of eve's landmarks.
Theres an option on the map that you can tick to show where they are on the map and right clicking over them on the map will show you a brief back-story to them.
I did find them very intresting when i first played eve and i think CCP should bring them into the limelight abit more. Nice to have visible landmarks.
I think what id find cool aswell is having a regional wide crisis where players like say research agent give bpos players could work with other corp members and help develop solutions to these crisis be it player\npc created or natural stella phenomenon and the reward would be large posistive standings to that corp and a highly praised mention in the eve cronicles

nebulas in eve doesnt exactly work well...some nebulas span multiple light years, so if you like the idea of hiding in the nebula...its more like hiding in the entire system...and that doesnt really work well...also, those "dust" clouds are just put there for eye candy-space doesnt actually have that kinda stuff all over the place.

i would for sure like to see more cool new eye candy. and i hate roid belts that really all look the same. that cresent arc of roids is boring, they should be moving around and you have to keep range of them to mine. granted this would make mining very hard with cans, but if we had a way to attach cans on the rock themselves or have a tractor beam that keeps them close to you maybe. i just think it would look alot more realistic, and isnt that what we all want.
