Edited by: Dark Shikari on 27/08/2006 04:53:30 The problem is that you deleted your cache.
If you had saved your /settings folder, things would be just fine.
P.S. To delete them all, click on the top bookmark, hold shift, click on the bottom bookmark, and right click/delete.
To keep them, create a folder, and do the same as above except drag to the folder instead of delete. NEVER open this folder.

The bms are on the server - however, the folders are stored locally, when you delete the cache your fancypants organization is gone forever.
You can either follow the advice here and plop them all in one big folder or sort by region and try to clean it up somewhat.
Until they are in (unopened) folders you will not be able to do anything with them without lagging a ton.

BMs are stored Server side. Deleting your cache, removes your folders that may have organized them. Opening your BM folder will cause huge lag then. If you file a petition, the GMs may be able to help you with your problem.

Best advice I can give you is to take the plunge. Open up the client one night, select all the bookmarks and simply delete them. (go to bed while its doing that if it would take too long :) )
Then use bookmarks only for real bookmark stuff. An interesting roid you are mining, your POS stuff like that. Learn to play the game and soon you will notice that playing without instajumps is perfectly possible and can be just as fun. Consider it an extra challenge to find new fittings for your ship that incorporate travel and some defense and offense.
Sure you'll die a bit more at first due to camps, but once you know how to play eve you'll die just as much with as without instajumps

Storing them in client would mean people would hack and abuse them...human nature guarantees this :o ___________________________ Brutors Rule! My Eve-vids; Click. |

Didn't know we had an expert hacker on board... what good would it be to hack your own BMs ?

Does anyone know the specific file/folder that holds the BM folder info? I have an old eve install that I want to take the BM settings from without replacing the whole cache folder.

If you could modify your own bm's you would be able to create locations anywhere in system, with a bit of third party software wizardry you could ***** ss's with ease, make totally unscannable and un-reachable ss's and warp about... well where ever you wanted to go really
