I'm confused do you not PvP.......this must be great for all PvP'ers. Its a PvP game right.
This is great for PvP'ers? Are you kidding or just plain ignorant? It's horrible for PvP'ers, it's great for gate snipers and defending fleets, and that's about it. Oh yeah and it's horrible for log on tactics which is just about the only good thing about it.
Well if you see gate snipers get your friends to help remove them, just like the poor guys who have to deal with pirates. Stop whining and go gank them.
As for defending fleets well they earnt the right to be able to defend there system with out being blobbed.
Now stop whining and go kill some gate snipers in empire

What is the point in gathering a group of friends if you can only enter the system 1 by 1?

Ah so I kill him by getting bored shooting down peeps as they jump in 1 by 1.... And well I assumed that the defenders where home when the attackers came knocking, cause if they wheren't, the attackers have a field day while the defenders are stuck in queue....

I would advise they you do not enter the system 1 by 1 in ships that can be killed by sniper before you can warp out....stick a travel setup on.....use the map bla bla bla like al the rest of us. Always where your seatbelt, its far harder for the aliens to abduct you! |

And what exactly is the freaking point of jumping in in ships that don't have anything to worry about from the sniper camp in the first place to kill him/them???

Originally by: Leandro Salazar This affects empire people just as much as alliance folks when they are in a war.
Exactly. It has nothing to with alliances, or 0.0 for that matter. We're involved in a lot of Empire wars and are based in highsec, and we've already had ship losses and close calls due to this.
It kills all tactical pvp, since you have no way of knowing if a gate will work or not until you try it.
I have no real problem with getting ganked by people, or by getting outmanevered and podded. I do have a problem when I do everything correctly and do the tactically smart thing -- and then get killed by a totally random game mechanic that I have no way of preparing for.
And let's not even get into the question of "how go a coherently move a gang/fleet around now?" and "how so I escort a freighter now?" questions, among many others.
The people who think "pvp" means arranged 1-on-1 matches aren't hit by this. The rest of us are starting to get pretty ****ed off.
Gate camper snipers must love this though, who needs warp bubbles with this thing in place? Just park near a "queued" gate and pick off the ships one by one. I'm sure it's a consolation to the podded people that they were "#5 in queue" when they went boom.

Every single patch........*sigh*
Bugs happen at patches. Every single patch you get a huge chors of "I'm quitting and never coming back!" posts. Inevitably, CCP get it fixed in a week or so, along with all the other patch bugs. Sure bugs arn't great, and probably shouldn't happen, but meh, whatcha gonna do.
Oh yeah, and: why won't they fix that POS bug! I can't assemble ships I've made at my POS! I'm quitting and never coming back if they don't fix it RIGHT NOW! Oh, and give me a Mothership!

Not read replys but will add to the posters Queues are horrid..
We went out last night in a frig fleet for laughs With 40 of us roaming was causing queue's and having to wait for gang members to be allowed to jump . It took a very long time :/ And in some cases where they missed combat on the other side of the gate .. pfft bad bad bad...

Well it seems you haven't read all posts about this topic, in another topic where this has been discussed it is said by a dev it isn't a bug but intented. The only thing was they had putted the trigger to low, it is now up to 600 in a system or 95% op cpu usage on that node. So to lock down a system get 600 people in it and BAM you have the queues at the gates into that system.

I think the issue is with this change, this is a major shift in the game play, which wasn't communicated at all. It favours pirtaes, kills empire wars, kills fleet battles and basically lets peopel die at gates when they didn't use to.
EvE is plainly broke, please fix. I note that after a 24K of reads on the other thread about this, CCP still choose not to reply, which I 'm afriad is plain rude.
Yes bugs happen in patchs and you live with them until they are fixed. This isnt a bug, its a poorly thought out change to game play to allow them to increase their profit margins.

Normally I'd agree. This is a bit different, though.
a) there was no advance warning of this, no discussion, nothing in patch notes
b) someone from CCP (Kieron?) said thay the queues should not have been enabled at all. However, that's pretty much the only even semi-official response so far, and it's been quite a while after that patch... why are the queues still active?
c) the queues affect pretty much all pvp in the game, barring arranged 1-on-1 fights. That's a magnitude more serious than "my POS doesn't work".
People are losing ships to this left and right, and there's no way to prepare against it. It's a random "lose ship, sorry" die roll.
What we need here is prompt official response, and equally prompt fix on this. Once again, the lack of official response and acknowledgement is the biggest problem.

Even if you don't participate in fleet/gang warfare, PvP, travel through lowsec or do anything besides sit in the station and change skills, you have to be astounded by the irony. Among all the goofy patch bugs that I have seen pop up in the last year, with this one CCP has managed to kill its oft-stated goal of bigger and longer-lasting fleet engagements. Even if they get on the stick and get rid of the offending code this week, I hope they have a big come-to-Jesus meeting about patch QA, or the game has already seen its heyday.
Of course, I'm totally ignoring the fact that the queue system has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to cure lag (play this weekend at all?), but who am I to dwell? |

What the ****?
Ok, someone from CCP is straight-out lying here. First we were told that they were activated by accident, and now this.
Could we have a straight answer from CCP please: were the jump queues an intended feature or not? If yes, why wasn't there any discussion or anything in the patch notes or dev blogs? If no, why are they still there and why is a dev saying that they were intentional?
Right now, it's sounding like this was an attempt to sneak in a feature that CCP knew players would not like. If not, we need to know about it. Now.

Apprently it is not bugged - it is intended but just implemented incorrectly
It doesn't favour pirates - I'm -10 and currently playing solo is ruined - If I get stuck at a gate then anyone can shoot me - if in gang then it makes it very hard to chase people or get away from angry villagers with pitchforks.
As far as I can see it does no one any favours - it destroys large fleet tactical movements - it destroys small gang / solo pvp - it impedes low sec mission runners, disrupts empire wars and generally is a pain in high sec
IMO this is a game breaking "feature" - it ruins many existing tactics and there is no counter as due to the node based system you have no idea if a gate will activate or not until you are actually on it.
This is a poorly thought out system to patch server loading diffculties that damages the players (no matter what their chosen style of play) what is needed is a well thought out solution to server load not a cheap fix.

Hello war target
... but yeah, agreed. While some gate snipers or griefers might love this, I suppose it generally hits pirates pretty bad, too.
Love the image of "villagers with pitchforks" there. I now have a name for my next pirate hunter ship.
