Anyway, I guess I'm more on the side of Gundam myself... Why can't we launch mobile suits instead of drones...? Oh well, I can pretend...

I'd actually lean towards Martian Successor Nadesico for that. They used their Estavalis, their heavily armed mecha, to fight JOVIANS.
