Hello, EVE. Despite our low profile on the forums (no new banners as Hugh has been sick) August was a very busy month for the MC. So, hereĘs a look back at what weĘve been up to the past few weeks.
Goons
The flavor of the month at the start of August was the Goons. They decided to declare war on just about everyone but us. Well, it didnĘt take long for someone to come along and ask us to join in the slaughter and on the 3rd of August, the MC declared war on the Goons and began active operations against them in Empire and Syndicate. Blah blah blah, lots of explosions followed and so on and so forth. Even with half the galaxy shooting at them, we still managed to bag a lot of the little buggers over nineteen days:
Ship Type / Kills / Losses
Assault Frigate 5 / 9 Battlecruiser 9 / 0 Battleship 11 / 1 Capsule 273 / 4 Covert Ops Frigate 2 / 1 Cruiser 94 / 6 Destroyer 16 / 1 Elite Battlecruiser 2 / 2 Elite Cruiser 1 / 0 Elite Industrial 1 / 0 Frigate 181 / 2 Heavy Assault Cruisers 0 / 3 Industrial 7 /0 Interceptor 6 / 2 Noobie Ship 66 / 0 Shuttle 60 / 0 Support Cruisers 1 / 0
Total Kills: 735 Total Losses: 32
It seems fitting that our only BS loss was to a traditional Goon 'swarm' of 12 Rifters, 5 Punishers, 3 Merlins, an Incursus and a Griffin.
Supremacy / Imperium
As the Goons seemed to melt into the ether, we received word that Supremacy had decided to ransom a rather well established industrial corp. The MC had been scheduled to provide them an escort to a large freighter operation and now there was a Supremacy war declaration threatening that. We responded with a war dec of our own against Supremacy in order to ensure the safe completion of our mission through the Empire-portion of the journey. All went well and things might have ended there but the Supremacy CEO decided to up the stakes by contacting our client and demanding that they pay the sum of five billion ISK for the war to end. Obviously, our client had better things to spend his money on, likeą ummmą us.
We put our location agents to work and it seemed that Supremacy was either based out of Aridia these days or just liked to hang out there. For some reason, Supremacy made the war dec against them mutual. w000t nĘ stuff! So, we got ready to shift down south and then the most peculiar thing happened: Supremacy joined Imperium, taking their war dec on our client with them. The slow shift of assets in what weĘd assumed would be a limited game of hide and seek quickly turned into a full scale mobilization as we all cheered at the chance to mix it up again with an old foe.
Things kicked off in Karen on Sunday the 13th where Farjung finally lost his fabled Vindicator in an epic fight on the Hophib gate. The loss was mourned but it just got everyone all the more fired up. Imperium sent out several fleets to meet us on more than one occasion and it was a hell of a lot of fun, with quite a few smaller engagements as well.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, Supremacy decided theyĘd had enough and left Imperium and Aridia all together. The word we got was that Supremacy had some sort of agreement with ImperiumĘs leadership that went sour and that, for whatever reason, Xirtam wanted this war. Regardless, Supremacy was no longer at war with our clientą but Imperium was. Our path was clear.

Around the middle of last week, Imperium seemed to finally realize that their war dec against us was mutual. That was ended and so was the war on our client. The MC continued active operations against Imperium until our CONCORD-sanctioned war ended this past Saturday night. The end result looked like this:
Ship Type / Kills / Losses
Assault Frigate 12 / 3 Battlecruiser 40 / 0 Battleship 65 / 9 Bomber 1 / 0 Capsule 166 / 4 Covert Ops Frigate 6 / 1 Cruiser 72 / 5 Destroyer 4 / 0 Elite Battlecruiser 14 / 0 Elite Cruiser 4 / 3 Elite Destroyer 1 / 0 Elite Industrial 1 / 0 Frigate 47 / 2 Heavy Assault Cruisers 2 / 2 Industrial 18 / 0 Interceptor 16 / 17 Mining Barge 1 / 0 Noobie Ship 10 / 0 Shuttle 42 / 0
Total Kills: 522 Total Losses: 46
The MC would like to take our hats off to Xirt and his boys for keeping local chat clean, and keeping it interesting and fun. I'm sure we'll dance again sometime.
Vertigo Coalition
Every now and then, something happens that just confuses the hell out of you. This was one of those things. VC has been -10 to the MC for a long time already, so we just saw them as targets of opportunity. Still, Karen and HopHib have sentry guns on the gates and not many of us felt like taking a sec hit just to pop the VC roaming about the area. Then, a few days into our war with Imperium, VC solved our problems by declaring war on us.
What followed was just about the most one-sided slaughter I've ever seen against another alliance-sized organization:
Ship Type / Kills / Losses
Assault Frigate 3 / 1 Battlecruiser 9 / 0 Battleship 19 / 1 Bomber 2 / 0 Capsule 83 / 0 Cruiser 32 / 0 Destroyer 1 / 0 Elite Cruiser 1 / 1 Freighter 1 / 0 Frigate 44 / 0 Heavy Assault Cruisers 2 / 1 Industrial 7 / 0 Interceptor 4 / 2 Mining Barge 1 / 0 Noobie Ship 7 / 0 Shuttle 23 / 0
Total Kills: 239 Total Losses: 6
I have no idea what VC were thinking, but getting in our way while we were already on the hunt was a very bad idea. To further emphasize this point, as a goodbye present, yesterday the MC moved a small fleet of a dozen cap ships down to HopHib to punch out two Large and one Medium Caldari POS's that were functioning as VC labs and storage facilities.
I've been told that right after the war was declared the current VC executor went AFKą for about a week. This seems to make sense judging from the number of corps that began jumping out of the alliance over the course of the war. Still, there was no smack, just a lot of panic it seemed like. Now it's done.
For the past two weeks, the MC has lived in southern Aridia. We're moving on now and getting ready for the wonders of Kali. I'm not sure if we're shooting something, building something or mining something this weekend. Quite possibly all three. Personally, I'll probably still be fixing the overviews on all of my charactersą *rabble rabble* -

We didn't go afk, we're just less active in what we european like to call prime time. Some of us was fighting alongside imp for the duration of the contract, though, plenty wasn't. For that I'm a bit ashamed, but it doesn't matter anymore. RHN pulled out of VC at the end of the contract. Thanks to imp for beeing good allies, I never was afraid when I participated in an op with them, due to xirt always beeing called primary. Thanks to MC for the (few ?) clashes I participated in, and to Farjung for proving how effective 3xMegathron+7x425mm's+Spike L+Dictor really is.

Good fun and respect to IMP/VC. Not many people will bring the fight to the MC, but you guys did, no matter how many ships Xirt lost =P . I am really starting to suspect that Xirt has the Slepnir BPO and DREAMWORKS has somehow managed to wrangle a Cynabal BPO (we whacked at least 3 of them).
I got a bit of a chuckle when I went to the KB and saw Far still getting bbqer. Haxx!

All in all, it was a bit odd (I was often heard mumbling "what were they thinking" in my sleep during the last few weeks), but it was also a helluva lot of fun. We actually got a lot of decent fights out of it as they were coming straight at us. Out of all of it, personal favorite moment: taking out a Deimos in two volleys from my Tempest.

Mind if i ask how long your war was to get those stats and if it included the periodf when they were at war with the majority of EVE's fortune 500 alliances?
heh. Nawrty Seleene.

MC's war with goons officially ended 22th august however we stoped actively hunting them bar one or 2 peeps about a week before that as we were of shooting imperium/supremacy/vc.

You heard the man, we may as well pack it in. I guess we're finished. Good game, MC, it's been fun.
As a side note, if you're including stats up to and including now, realize that our war against the Goons ended about a week and a half ago, so you'll also have to lump IMP and VC into our kill totals.
Oh, and I'll fetch you a glass of milk to go with Sel's cookie. I have to remember not to be drinking anything at work while reading these forums.

Kinda of a mute point since goons werent the only ones we were shooting. We shot 3fa/black reign and few others during same period. And the whole we killed more than you is kinda a stupid argument since you can only shoot what undocks/logs in and what your allowed to shoot standings wise. |

In no way do I think that AXE's and MC's stats during the Goonie war is in any way indicative of the performance and efficiency of either organization.
For AXE, it was a good oppertunity to for us to sharpen our skills at conducting an empire war. In addition, it also allowed us train those that have never experienced an empire war the tactics and standard operating procedures (don't fly unescorted haulers to Jita!).
You have to be crazy to have an e-peen contest using the goonie war as the measuring stick. That war was a serious deviation from all other wars.
...and yes, we do sell and deliver ammo. 425 Express Delivery is available upon request, please see Hans Gates and Marcus Grisbius regarding this option. |

The Mods we got off the 2 faction battleships more than paid for more than all the BSs we lost, so we had a great time.
Thanks for the pleasant comments and a fun war, see you guys again, have fun and fly Unsafe

To be honest, Fatballs is a child though. He's only 13 or something and his smack is pretty pathetic. He is still probably he most annoying person in Eve though, whines about exploits even worse than GingerMagician (lag torpedoes, anyone? ) when you pop him...

To be honest, some of my ... ahem ... former associates whined more about Fatballs and Miz than either of them ever complained in local. And don't get me started on the complaints certain individuals expressed to me about certain other alliances and their "tactics".
To MC - sorry, the timing was just wrong, we didn't get to engage you the way we had hoped. Going from -10 back to passably civil in less than three weeks in order to better participate in the wars kinda puts a damper on what you can do with your time in game. Maybe next time. From what I hear, you guys gave some of the Imp guys some really good fights, and vice versa.

Hey, even I got to shoot and stuff this war. That says alot tbfh. And only once did we get attacked when I was AFK at SS and that was when IMP/VC did strafe runs against our Dread's + support. That says even more!
Great war(s), had a lot of fun. And for real, I am not a fan of smack, but the fact that everytime we killed stuff Fatballs "smacked" IMP about it. Priceless.
Also, I should know better than to fly my rook when drunk, it takes too long to realize I got my "****ty" fitting on and suddenly there is Xirt with a trap, me jamming BS at 100km instead of scrambling ceptor at 5k and *KA-BOOOM* I wake up with a hangover and a Velator in my hangar. Cold drinks - you slay me!

Fixed. Only God knows if anything than T2-fitted cruisers should really count though - which would make it 43-17 against Goon and 179-35 against Imperium - still very nice numbers but much more meaningful.

my fav bit of the war was when I found a VC domi at planet xii in hophib (7,000 km from the karan gate)
As he was -10 I was hoping he would agress my ceptor so I flew 200km to him and orbitted at 15km
Didnt agress as I didnt want the sec loss, i didnt even lock tbh
he locks me, nos's me to zero cap and unleashes the drones..
I start thinking about flying my pod back only to notice that the drones have agresses the 2 fighters I had assigned to me.
As the guy was now a blinky the rest of the fleet jumped in and he went pop :)

That was the most fun I've had a long time. Much more entertaining than having to block out local because miz and noballs popped an empty T1 hauler 5 systems away, therefore we were somehow "owned" as an alliance and they wont shut the f*ck up about it.

1. Yes there are fraps. Not from me (not much anyway) since everytime we got in a fight it was either: - 2 FPS (really strange with FPS lag and no module lag...) - 2 many drinks hence forgetting FRAPS several times as well as during the loss of some ships.
2. Like the pictures, that would be us running free with our finger up to any system authority.

You've now paid for your free alliance.
Coug -
While I have flown under you (albeit quite a long time ago), and also flown with the likes of VC (including Fluff, ELA, ex fountain corps, etc) who decided to break off from Torn Soul and create thier own environment, I have respect for you. DMGI, Rubra were a few of the good members, and your membership to Body Count really speaks for your age and your ability.
With that being said -
Your smugness about destroying expensive assets that belong to your former comrades - albeit very telling of the year and a half of frustration you've felt against fighting BOB / MC / Allies with sub standard wingmen - is unfortunately lacking class. While I will not protest to know everything that went on since Black Avatar left Aridia, one thing is for certain - I know you've got more tact then outright saying "hah, thats for making me put all that work into an alliance that failed!".
IMO - Even though VC from what I've known has never had any major major string of victories resulting in claiming of space or assuming any source of power, it existed to do one thing. Fight an unbeatable foe. That it did. Seeing your ex-alliancemates throwing themselves towards a much larger, much better trained, equipped mercenary outfit only speaks to thier honor. Something that isn't spoken of much lately when the words IMP / VC are spoken of.
So do this, take the fact that you've created a banner of which a cadre of people, whom whether they have lost, or lost horribly - CONTINUE to fight against BOB, Allies, etc as a testament to the fact that they have held one single goal through defeat and heartache.
Realize this :
Although thier heads may not be in the right place, understand thier hearts are steadfast and that they continue to do what they believe in - even after the leaders have all gone. If they've wronged you, stolen from you, realize this. It's what you signed up for. If you've got any hard feelings towards the poor souls who attempt to overcome bob using less then the omglatestwtfpwnmobiles, realize you and your commrades have set this ball in motion over a year and a half before (yes, even Black Avatar was a part of that).
Let go of the reigns, and just have fun in your new spot. Don't **** on what you've created. Let them grow, and find out on thier own the problems, trials and tribulations of running an alliance; much less an alliance thats fighting BOB + allies.
Ps: this is just me speaking, not FIX, not BA, not anyone else, just me. _______________________________________________
