Edited by: Ethidium Bromide on 28/08/2006 13:05:05 i know most of the Devs and GMs and QA people (generally the complete CCP staff) are having a hard and busy time atm with issues after the latest patch. whiners are growing like mushrooms after a summer rain and the comunity gets more and more eager to get to know when things will be back to 'normal'.
would it be possible to get a devblog that answers some of the questions (on most yes or no would suffice) like queues aso and maybe also gives some insight into what you think might have went wrong, be wrong etc..
something like a real blog maybe with daily updates (WOOT! kieron bought a new espresso machine OR WOOT! eris gets pink bars on the forums OR even some game related stuff )
i think it would calm many people down to have insight into your undoubtedly stressfull and atm extremly long days (i bet).

Then again some people wouldnt hesitate to kick them while they are down, and say their explainations are lies.
Usually they do publish 1-2 blogs every week though, so we'll see. Its nice to see some support for ccp in some threads here though.. I find myself posting less and less when there is so much rabble here. Wait, thats a good thing, isnt it...

I have found a combination that gives you pink clouds in space and then when I annouced this happily to my coworkers - they gathered around my desk and looked rather threatening. I quickly forgot the combination again after that.
The coffeemachine did stop working for 5 minutes and there was a large queue infront of it until we figured out that tea was still available. Now i¦m enjoying cappuchino and getting back to work to make new stuff(tm).

Which will make the game easier for people to get into. And everyone will be able to pick Jedi errr Jove as a starting class.

Your title says DEV, so that leads us to believe you are involved in development.
I think what ppl would respectfully ask then is that you nudge the DEV/Admin/Hamster who is responsible in an effort to get them to address the multiple threads regarding the gate queueing issue. |

While there are many things from the realms of science fiction that we have not yet managed to bring into our world, there are also many which we have. Unfortunately one of the most accurately represented of these is a machine capable of dispensing a drink that is almost, but not entirely, unlike tea.

Several people have been made aware of these threads, that¦s all we can do... and post about tea in other threads.
I have said it so often, dev¦s do read the forums but they dont always reply. Usually they can¦t reply even in jest and return to their work in peace before people demand they reply elsewhere or make somesort statement in another thread. We've had a couple busy weeks working on the Dragon code branch and its deployment, Gencon, vacations, etc., so that is the reason behind the recent lack of Dev Bloggage. However, Oveur has given me authorization to post embarassing photoshopped pictures of Devs if they don't work on their blogs, so that might be sufficient incentive for a number of blogs to appear in the coming days.
I posted a blog earlier today about GM Internships at CCP and I know Oveur is planning on taking a trip down memory lane with some funny tidbits from his inbox. Tux has one in the works for later in the week and there are others in process.
Patience, young padiwan, coming are more Dev Blogs.

As kieron said have patience. There are two devs at CCP who were forum moderators, so, the forum whoring nature will soon spread to the other devs as well.

Do these pictures include Eris? If so, this could prove interesting

I posted a blog earlier today about GM Internships at CCP and I know Oveur is planning on taking a trip down memory lane with some funny tidbits from his inbox. Tux has one in the works for later in the week and there are others in process.
Patience, young padiwan, coming are more Dev Blogs.
thanks to everyone for more or less constructive but nonetheless interesting and insightful (is that a word?) replys.

Did you upgrade the firmware of that thing, because that might have introduced an unwanted queue system, if so, i have news for you baby, it will be fixed soonish, have a cuppa meanwhile, no one in their right mind believes that boobies will be gone forever.
...did i write boobies, i meant coffee of course.

Some proper answers in threads actually giving information would not go amiss. That's all people want.

Well, the coffee is "insta" so it can only serve 5 cups at a time...
And I expect some coffee machine elsewhere in the building was running at 95% of capacity.
Irony? What Irony?

What I dislike is when you are out in the unsafe, uncivilised areas (let's say Liverpool), in mortal danager, just trying to get a cup of coffee, and you discover that your coffee machine is on the same coffee pipeline as all the Starbucks in London, and while you are waiting for your coffee, an evil scouse (let's call him Calmdown) is sneaking up behind you...

I like to see Calmdown mentioned, being a minmatar forum *****. We need more of that. :) Fan club perhaps, preferably with sick fans and groupies.

I think you might be wrong about people expecting authorative answer here - more like we want to know we are being heard and the dev teams perceives something as an issue when we do. So the answer along "Relax people, we know that queues are a problem, that servers lag lige hell, disconnects happen and cloaking is bugged, we are going to do something about it, either by statin this is not a bug but feature or nerfing it even more". This tells us you know about it, doing something with it and that is enough for mature whiners to stop whining. Immature whiners will whine regardless, as always.
