Let me tell you a little story about the lance though. The lance is a symbol. When I first started playing EVE, I chose a Gallente toon (specifically Intaki) because I like the lore behind them. It was fascinating. I soon discovered that I was able to fly this beautiful ship called the Incursus. What made it more beautiful to me than anything else was the lance, the symbol of a knight, a noble warrior of chivalry and valour. Since then, the Incursus hull has been my primary PVP boat, both solo and otherwise, because it gave me an aesthetic sense of being a space knight. They say honour doesn't exist in EVE, or it shouldn't be expected. I never expect it, but in combat, I do personally strive to be as honourable as I can, provided my opponent can return the favour. If they cannot, of course, I always have lots of friends around. Without the lance, I'm no longer a knight in shining Gallente armour, I'm just another generic PVP'er in another generic PVP ship. It's no longer an extra special experience for me, one that keeps me coming back for more, win or lose. +1 for saving the lance. Please don't break my noble steed, CCP. Please, I beg you. I believe you're referring to the stack of Epcot Center-looking things on the back end of my favorite space U-boat? There are lots of T2 ships that need a major cosmetic overhaul (really, they should all be totally unique hull designs like the Stealth Bombers, but CCP is legit working on that). For example: why is the Phobos the only Heavy Dictor that has those domes on it? All the others have always looked identical to their T1 counterparts. Point I was making is that CCP have done some pretty good stuff with the model redesigns in recent years starting with the scorpion onwards. The crucifier was a bit strange though. I've seen the new models and I like them, they've kept the character of the old models which I wasn't too fussed on as they obviously had medieval influences in them. I'm happy to keep on giving you guys bumps by disagreeing with you and there's plenty of ship designs in eve that I don't like but put up with, that Crucifier for instance which is clearly and obviously flying upside down. I'm philosophical about it though so I take the view that as long as the models retain their 'character' when they are redesigned then I'm happy to go with it. The new crucifier looks nothing at all like it's predecessor which is why I don't like it. The new models for the Incursus/Ishkur/Enyo and blackbird retain their 'Eve character' so I'm happy to trust the devs. I'm also not too impressed with the new condor being a fan of asymmetry and all of that, so that too is a ship that has lost some of it's character and is starting to look just like some generic sci-fi and not eve online. It's often been said before on these boards, but I'd love to see a situation where you keep the model of the ship you buy. Older designs could then become collectors editions or people could keep on manufacturing them. The market could then decide which one is best and most popular either the incursus MK1 or the Mk2 version. Both versions of the design could have exactly the same stats and performance, just different models. I don't see why this can't be done. Personally I think you'd all be better off arguing for this as opposed to trying to get CCP to drop the implementation of a ship model they've already created and are clearly proud of as an enhancement to the game that they feel outclasses the old model in every which way. If they didn't take this view, they wouldn't be deploying it. Multiple models with the same ship stats is what we all need to be campaigning on, hell even sell them as options in the NEX store. That would be cool and would end the threads like this that pop up whenever CCP change a ship model as everyone would get what they want.
