There should be a way of checking if the code is working without useing it.
Mayby some form of confirmation on the subscription details page.
Or there should be just another form, in wich we can check the code. It would be good if it tells us, when the code was used, and by who, in case that it was used.
But just basic code check would be great also.

Think this will only make "scanning" for not used codes easy (which is infact the thing you want to protect yourself from).
Not sure how it could be made more safe though ccp doesn't allow scamming trough time cards anyway so anyone caught will be dealth with anyway.

You have some point there, but they still can use the code on their account to check if its working, and prolong their account time if it would work.

Bad idea. You will know its not real when you use it, it wont make a difference if its real or not if you already baught the code lol, the person wont give it to you to test it first thats just dumb.

But if you want to use it later, for example after you come back from vacation 2 weeks later and want to use it, what can you do if its invalid? You cannot buy another one, because your account is blocked(unpaid). And you dont have anyone to contact, even if you will petition it in game after such long time, and even if you get reinbusment, thats all for nothing, because you wont be able to buy another code to expand your account time.
