If your lucky that is.
Any of you that have been playing since about 2010 should remember things like Monocle Gate and the Noble Exchange (the store that used Aurum as currency). CCP tried to introduce micro transactions into the game and basically screwed up the pricing system.
Over the years the Noble Exchange has developed into the NEX Store, which is essentially the same thing though the prices are much more reasonable.
What you may not know or remember is that CCP gifted everybody with free Aurum, 5500 to be exact. On the NEX store there is an item called a Multiple Character Training Certificate. This allows you (as you might suspect) to train 2 or 3 characters on one account.
They also happen to sell for 850,000,000 ISK in jita and cost 3500 Aurum.
So if you were lucky enough to have been subscribed when the Aurum gift was gifted then chances are you have 5500 Aurum sitting in the NEX store gathering dust.
Now you could buy one and be done with it, but you can squeeze even more ISK out of this because 5500 - 3500 = 2000.
2000 leftover Aurum..
You can buy 1500 Aurum for around 420 mil ISK from the jita market to top that up to 3500 and get a second MCTC, netting you another half a billion.
When all is said and done you can farm about 1,3 billion ISK per active account that you have, assuming you:
A) Were active when the Aurum was given out and.. B) Haven't bought a Monocle ;)
(Or if you want you could even get some dual character training!)

The work-around that was mentioned in the issues page (a while back) suggested to run eve.exe in the bin directory (not evefile.exe), this will start the launcher and should fix the issue, it fixed it for me anyway. Apparently it something to do with setting some secure token or sthn. Only problem is I keep having to do this after each patch which is a nuisance. Seems only to affect a small number of people as well. My understanding is it will affect anyone that doesn't use the launcher (i.e. everyone using evefile.exe) as the launcher sets the token for the store.
I've been somewhat hit and miss on this problem though I haven't had any issues at all since about the time Kronos was released. |
