Last time I did courier missions without instas was back before lvl4 agents were released, and I'd have a heck of a time completing the (lvl3) courier missions within the bonus time.
My question is: before courier missions were removed at the last patch, could you complete your courier mission within the bonus time without instajump bookmarks? Is this, perhaps, why courier missions have been temporarily removed?

That question is impossible to answer correctly.
For a veteran a simple lvl 1 courier would be no sweat. Jump into a ship with just enough cargospace, fill it with nanos and MWD and off you go, getting timebonus within a matter of minutes. The answer would be YES.
For a new player doing the same mission, it could be very hard. The answer is MAYBE.
Depending on where from, where to, how much you need to carry and how much time you have to do it, the answer will always, regardless of level of player and agent, swing between a YES, a MAYBE and a NO...

The big hauling L4 (200k m3) in total? Yes. The rewards would be crap though. You're talking 3mil for probably three or four hours work. The worst cases where you actually have to move all of the stuff around might be borderline impossible but usually at least half of the containers are in the right place from the start. -- (Battle hardened miner)

hey hey
you can afk courier. each level courier mission can easily be completed within the time.
L1's - pretty much doable in small agile MWD ships L2's - Tier 1 hauller no expanders L3 - tier 2 indy - may need expanders L4 - better get a freighter
remember mission times are based on average player completion times so if the time is given is often exceeded then the agent will adjust the time given. but in my experience of courier missions they are very easy isk.

I used to run alot of lvl 2's with a MWD fitted Cormorant. They were almost always 4 jumps long and were usually finished long before the bonus timer was up.

can anyoen confirm that last point about flexible time bonuses or are u making that up - i always thought CCP fixed that on a specific mission basis
Yes u can do high sec courier missions afk but low sec instas (even with the new one copying 5 at a time wont take long with less lag) low sec ones the LP doubles as does the rewards. Another idea is because there is a lack of diversity with missions due to poor programming is key stations where u might have a lot of missions visit with repeating cargo (ie deliver a lot of quafe to a calderi station) then buy as much quafe as u can and drop at said station each tiem the mission comes up accept it then complete it immediatley as long as the goods are at destination oure good to go with the next one
This generally covers the NPC ones the containers well youre on youre own there. They are back after todays patch currently testing em on sisi

I definitely remember that LP and bonus times are set by the players as they complete missions. This came up when the 'new' mission system was implemented (drone bounties/minerals nerf, among others) and we were getting bizarre LP/bonus. Not into searching for the thread, but I'm pretty sure a dev responded to this effect (be nice to search threads by dev replies only...).
Sounds to me like courier missions can be completed across the board with the right setup within the bonus time, thanks for the responses. (A freighter for lvl4s? ouch!)
I think also with the repetitive nature of missions, that creating your own insta routes will still totally work - look at mission, create route, then complete mission.
Still, I don't think I'll go back to my 4/20 0.0 (security) agent if instajump bms are removed - too much risk. Or perhaps they will raise 0.0 rewards to compensate?

It depends on the place you do the missions.
In my old NPC corp in Abudban I needed instas to get lvl 4 couriers done in any decent ammount of time, let along in time for bonus.
In my new system (Oh, you thought I'd tell you, huh?) I never go more than 7 jumps to get to a destination and for multi-station missions they're usually in a line, so completing them in time is a snap (Having a Transport Ship with an MWD makes for a lack of needing instas, too)
I'm quite curious what the new courier missions will be like. ---------------------
"Somebody sent us up the bomb" "We get signal" "What" "Main screen turn on" "5m or i pod u, lol" "What you say" "wtf omg lag" |

Your initial question threw me! I've never had a problem completing my courier missions within the given timeframe and ALWAYS received the time bonus, tho I've NEVER used BMs...
I must admit, I have considered making/buying a set or two of good BMs just for these courier missions, but it would only be for making my trips as short and sweet as possible.
CCP gives us waaaay more time than necessary. I find it hard to believe there's anyone struggling to make the time bonus on ANY Courier Mission!
