I was told once that dog tags can be used to improve your standing with certain factions.
If this is so, where would the contacts be that you need to do this?
I have my connection skills as high as they'll go pretty much, but I STILL can't get missions with the Galente. they just hate me. But I don't want to go -5 and start getting shot at. I'm close though... So any way I can do anything to improve my standing I'd appreciate it.
Is there an NPC corp I can do missions for that will help improve my Galente standing? other then actual Galente ones?

Minmatar should give a nice boost. I'm not sure on the dog tags, I've been wanting to do that myself, but never got around to it.

I heared the dog tag offers where removed.
To raise the standing, Minmatar will be your best guess.

Yeah there used to be an agent outside the 3 starter schools' stations in Ryddinjorn, Ammold and Hulm sitting in a Wolf, and if you convoed them they asked for 5 angel copper tags. In return they gave small change and some standing. Similar was in each race's space.
They were apparently removed at some point.

And if I read the patch notes correctly. They will eventually be coming back. They might have been part of the missions written in python though.

I don't know if it works, but you can try to kill an NPC hauler of a gallente corp, resulting in -0.05 standing toward those corp (or similar) (or maybe create an alt, kill him and you have some small - standing to the starter corp).
Since it's higher than your faction standing, it should be used for determinating which agents you can use.
So depending on your connection/diplomacy skill you could end up to +1.5 standing and should be able to fly missions for a Lv. 1 agent which should give out importants after 16 missions.
I never tested it, but I don't know why it shouldn't work. The only backdraw is that you will lose very much of your current caldari/amarr standing.

That won't work. You need standing of at least -2 towards faction and corp.
