You removed from game all the armor repairers and hull repairers? People only use that to repair their ships after battle (not during). I dont remember the last time i had to use the repair hangar at a station. What if CCP reduced the price of repairing and remove those modules from the game? Instead of having to spend millions repairing a BS you could introduce a time for complete the repairs (like the factory time to complete a batch). If you had a big ship and it has been baddly hit, it would take a day or so to repair it. This way pvp would be improved because now in large battles if neither side loses ships you can be flying a completly repaired ship in 15 minuts. So whats the point of pining down someone almost to the point of destruction?
So i say:
- Lower the repair prices (a lot) - Remove the armor and hull repairer modules (or make them work only if you are above 50% armor or struct. Or simply remove the hull one) - Introduce a timer for repairs (according with ship and amount of dmg)
This way the damage you do will count for something.

In stead of removing those repairers from the game i would suggest a different solution. But i do agree that repairs should cost something:)
What about this, the modules take minerals as 'ammo'. 1 unit of tritanium would only repair x health while a unit of noxcium would repair 25x and megacyte would repair 100x in the same time.

I like the idea of everything costing something in order to use it. Too much free stuff around here.
And we want the feature to repair ourselves or others in space, its a nice feature. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

Great idea man (even though it comes from a pirate ). And maybe they could introduce some mainanace cost, or ship decay so that you have to repair/maintain from time to time. But I already see another quick-fix for that problem. Just have two ships. Repair one and jump into another one. ______

An expensive quick fix dont you think?
By the way. When player controled stations are introduced you can liberalise the prices and people could repair their ships in the cheaper station. You could also introduce a skill for the station manager that would improve the repair time of his client ships.
So many possibilitys... Eve its a great field to breed them. to go where no game has gone before. I personally think CCP has just lack of manpower, not lack of skill. Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

Thats in idea lab... I think the game should move in the other direction, easier to destroy ships, warp to people in system and finally, easier to replace them. This game should be about the skills and the people, not about the eternal mining and harvesting for ships.

Yeah, I like this idea, I always felt it was too cheap to repair ships...
I think a lot of people in BS are going to hate this idea though, purely from an isk point of view. IMO, people should have to work for BS and I don't think everyone in the game should be able to afford them.

I would personally prefer to see repairs made slowly over time when it's in "dry dock". So if you have a BS ripped nearly to destruction that ship would have to be out of commision for several days.
This would cause you to use another ship or take it out weakened. Warfare would benefit and so would ship manufacturers as players would need more ships.

maybe you should have to carry certain minerals in your hold in order to "fuel" the repairers? the amount of damage determines the quality of minerals required to complete repairs. Less damage = low end (tritanium/pyerite) More damage = high end (noxcium, zydrine, mega) etc?

Here's a thought on a feature to enable warping to character in system.
At the moment we already have the scanner, you can use it to see what ships are in system and you can use directional to figure out pretty much what ships are hiding where, I'd say if you can narrow down the angle to which you've located someone... say 5% or 15% then you can warp to them. This kind of makes sense since what you've done is narrow down your scanner to a small enough area of space that you can hyperthetically get a lock?
This would make it possible to locate someone in space but not make it instantanious, you'd have to be very quick with a scanner to locate someone.
The defense against this would obviously be to contantly warp to different objects in system so its obviously not a foolproof system, but I think it might be a fairly balanced way of implementing it.

IŠam sry to say, but this is a very suxy ide. YouŠve ever woundered why ppl mostly go for just shield upgrades instead? And now you want to remove the one thing thats more effient on armor than shield (amount repaired compare to cap input)? DonŠt think so. This change is completely unnecessary, go train mech to lvl 3 and put on armor/hull repairs if you are to cheap to pay the repair bill, being lazy and cheap isnt a good combo :/. FYI, i know quite a few ppl that use them in combat. __________________________________________________________ |
