Anyone here use teamspeak?
I know I can get Teamspeak for free somewhere (can't remember where) but before I go doing that I wanted to know a bit more about it. I am in a small corp that is looking at teamspeak to help us communicate when doing joint missions or low sec operations.
1. Is it hard to get going? 2. Is is easy to get a space just for our corp on a free server? 3. Do we keep this space or have to get a new one each time? 4. What ports do I need open in my firewall to get it to work? 5. Where do I download a client from? 6. Are there any issues with Teamspeak causing lag with Eve? 7. Is there any control over who can and who can't speak?
Anyway. Thanks for any advice! Mik

Thanks for the link. It answers the bit about where to get the client from but I can't find much about a free teamspeak service and setup there.

1. Not really 2. Generally, or find a cheap supplier 3. If you mean the IP address you keep it 4. No clue, check the FAQ 5. You know where 6. Extremely minimal, except when starting it up. Do it before ops, and you'll be fine. 7. You can mute people if they're being naughty.

Edited by: Serenity Steele on 01/09/2006 08:58:16 Voice is highly recommended for co-ordinating anything complex (combat) and also socialising :)
You can download the Teamspeak client and/or server here. The server let's anyone of your corp mates run the server if you can't/don't want to use a free one.
Other choices are: - Ventrillo - In-game voice Soon(TM)

It's also very easy to run your own (temporary) server, doesn't take a lot of resources or upload.

In game voice comms to all players is to be implemented with Kali I believe
I think it is going to be a premium, (upsold), item. TBH I see a lot of existing corps and alliances sticking with what they have already.
