This is a story of trials and struggles throughout EVE.
About 6 months ago when I moved to Domain, I found the odd looking Sansha ships all over the place. When I saw my very first True Sansha Juggernaut, I was like "whoa, 1.15 mil isk... cool!" So I killed it, and it dropped an X5 Engine Enervator and a Sansha Radio M. I was like "OMG! X5!!! ... WOOOOOOWWW!!!"
A few months passed, and I was starting to get upset at Iron faction drops. Killing True Sansha Savage Lords, Beast Lords... omg it was insane. I was starting to think there was no hope for me.
After a while I moved to the Forge region, where Dread Guristas showed up. I think in 2 months I saw maybe one, and when I killed it, some jackass warped in on it, microwarpdrived to it and pulled the loot, then made a quick warpout. I had the guy targeted, but I didn't have a scrambler (I was ratting, ok).
So, today....
I was out in a 0.5 system hanging out with Cerulean Fire, one of my devoted corp members. She's an Admiral in training, new to EVE, so I thought I'd show her the ropes of ratting decent rats. All we were finding were frigates, little 15k frigates, so I was starting to get sort of sad.
Then the amazing happened... an event that will forever change my life.
I left my stupid ass drones in a belt. My Infiltrator II's were high and dry, and there were two other people in the system I was pretty sure were ratting. So I switch on my scanner and hit a 360 sweep to see if they were in the vicinity. Right after I did, I realized that I didn't even have drones enabled in the overview. Just as I go to minimize the scanner window back down, I notice something catch my eye.
-- True Sansha Enslaver
I yell over the comm: "Awesome! True Sansha! Cerulean, that's a good kill right there drops faction loot... but we have to hurry. Go search the belts! I found my drones!"
She was right next to me. Asking me what faction loot was, I started to get short-breathed as I realized the possibility that this could be a great piece of frigate work for her. I was in a slow-moving Celestis, 20km away from my hung up drones. They were probably ****ing themselves. They wanted to fight a True Sansha. But, they were off duty while Cerulean tested out her shiny new 150mm railguns on her Tristan. So, I take a closer look at the scanner.
"I need you to start from the top down, looks like he's near the center of the map. Start at belt 1."
I knew she couldn't take the damage from a True Sansha. Those things are made to kill. She warped in on the first shot. It was in belt 1.
"Uh, I found it!" she said hesitantly, but excitedly.
"Warp out! Get away, it'll get you!" I screeched, scared for her ship.
"You don't have to tell me twice," she replied dryly.
She warped out. About thirty seconds later, I warped in at belt 1, with the TS 60km away, in drone range. I was tempted to unleash the fury of the Infiltrators, but called Cerulean back for more training.
She came back, and POW the True Sansha frigate was zooming towards me, ripping away at 1,746m/s. I jammed it with my ECMs and then Cerulean opened fire.
"Wow, that thing's tank must have gotten blown off.. it's going pretty fast," I muttered as Cerulean's 150's ripped through the shields and armor with ease. Finally, she popped it... the loot sitting just 650 meters off my port bow.
"I'm full, you grab it," she said. I opened the can quickly, and glanced at the loot.
It was some crazy loot, from first glance.
"Alright! AN IMPLANT! WOOHOO!" (I had NEVER pulled an implant in the some 20 faction ships I've killed before). And ooh, a nice True Sansha Copper tag and True Sansha Radio S..."
I scooped all the cargo, then sat idle in the belt while the other two unjammed frigates continued pounding away at my untanked cruiser.
After opening my cargo again, upon closer inspection... I saw the unimaginable and warped away immediately to avoid destruction of our prized loot...

Nice find... it happens occasionaly, but very rarely. I think I've gotten a Low-grade Talisman Beta off some Blood Raider rat which was pretty worthless and my all-time best score was a Crystal Delta. Of course that was like 8 months ago and haven't had anything better than a Sansha Radio S since then :(

Been playing about 1.5 months. I have had about 5 named faction spawns, 1 week into the game I killed a True Sansha spawn in a .8 that dropped a LG Slave Delta that I sold for 45mil. Its pretty easy to get faction spawns now, you can do the same trick as out in 0,0 by clearing all the belts and whatnot while waiting for one.

On his first day ratting (third day into eve), my little brother got a Dark Blood figate spawn in a 0.8 system. Yes, a freaking 0.8 system. It dropped a Dark Blood Warp Disruptor, the really long range one worth 90mil. Lucky..

Good story.
Implants dropping in loot is great. I remember the first day that the tech II implant drops were introduced.
I went ratting in Deklein and killed a Dread Guristas Conqistador, and got a Crystal Omega.
Put it on the sell order forums
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=213527&page=1#1
sold it for way under what it was worth. I had no idea how much seeing as it was one of the first ones sold :/

I've had several faction spawns up to 0.7, and I got a low-grade implant in 0.5 once. But it's still a nice suprise once you see the loot. It's just my luck my ship got popped just 2 seconds before I could warp out with the LG implant, and ofcourse the implant was destroyed with the ship.

yeah, lucky :D keep that as a souvenier!
I remember the time I got an implant from a centii slave, up in 0.7. I popped it and just ctrl-a'ed the loot and didnt think any more of it.
When I got back to base, I opened my cargo hold and I saw the insanity before my eyes

Grats on the implant.
I was out mining some omber which just happened to have spawned on a mission (The Rogue Slave Trader 2/2) when out popped some belt rats with a nice and juicy TS rat.
I return my mining drones to the drone bay and launch my 2 hammerhead IIs to despatch the evil rats.
With all the rats dead i returned to mining thinking i'll pick up the tag and small TS crystal later when i haul in the omber.
Upon hauling i get the shock of my life as i open the loot can after pulling it in with my tractor beam... it's an implant.
Not one of those +3% velocity ones i have gotten so many times from my agents as mission rewards but a Low-grade Slave Omega.
Mining Omber on a mission is nice but picking one of those was priceless. (Well not exactly priceless i sold it for a very reasonable 325 mill)

Am I doomed to be one of the most unlucky buggers ever to grace the electron highways in eve?
Even after 12 hrs straight ratting in a -1.0 system I still have never found a single pirate implant at all.
Nonetheless congrats and hope you enjoy it while it lasts.

something similar happened to me whena friend tried eve , we went to a drone complex somewhere in ammar empire.
on last pocket i found that some kind of drones gave me the odd bug of nearly 50 error screens popping at middle, i was so ****** that just warped to 1st celestial thing i was able to target.
i ended in a belt with a dark blood frigate, and a 50m worth implant -------------------Sig----------------------- WE ARE MERCS, Contact QUADIX LEIME OR ALEXIE STUKOV for further info. Banana's 4tw - Xorus

I have killed many faction spawns, and a couple officer spawns. I have so much faction stuff, (brag brag, no really), I can't fit all the links into my bio for others to ponder and shop through.
True Sansha's, Shadow Serpentis, Dread Guristas... yet, I have only found one implant, a Snake Beta which dropped from a Shadow BS in Cloud Ring. That episode was far more than payday, becuase the next belt I warped to... had another Shadow BS
Next day, found another Shadow BS. I swear, CPP must have been laughing at me becuase I really think they have a red light that blinks "Durethia has caused another faction spawn to appear, nerf it's loot! Nerf it's loot!"
Five Shadow Serpentis Battleships thereafter, all of them only dropped a Shadow tag and lame Shadow/Garudian Iron ammo!

heh well call me lucky or BS, but in the time ive been playing eve, ive found 2 implants on shadow serpentis frigates (tristans) both in .5 systems, first one was a low grade snake omega, and the second one was a low grade crystal epsilon, not great but from 300-500k frigs? when i was mining on a barge and just drones did the dirty job... hehe its pretty nice to find them every now and then...

I get True Sansha spawns fairly regularly, indeed belt NPCing in a 0.4 in a gank setup Incursus with T1 fitting is a pretty good test of piloting skill. Most of the time it's tags and radio crystals, though I have had a couple of implant drops, a couple of TS warp scramblers, and a TS Cap Relay.
I have farmed Shadow Serpentis spawns in 0.0 too, but I find using a T1 frig in low sec for the job is more fun.

The 1st time I set foot into a .4 to rat I found a Dread Gruistas spawn. Looted me a DG Invln Field that sold for 250mil. I've got 1000's of DG ammo rounds, a warp scrambler, a ballistic shield hardener and a large shield booster. ----------------------------------------------------- As a Freelancer the thoughts and opinions contained within this post are my own. And to this date, I never really made any money by any 'real work' in eve: just got a faction drops here and there. My poor pirate friend calls me lucky bastard, wich I propably am.
