A a regular user of these forums for the past few years I rarely recall when the Alliance and Corporation Discussions forum was so slow and contained such little 'real' news.
Now I know there are skirmishes going on all over the place i.e. the fighting in Germinate, the CVA's recent run in with KIA and a bunch of other mercs/pirates, the Ushra'Khan war with FZN, The Establishment, Veto etc. the Coalition's ongoing conflict with Red Alliance and many many more.
However to be fair none of these seem to be generating that much news/smack and to be honest on the galactic scale of things are fairly insignificant.
So I was wondering whether the big boys are once again stagnated with NAPs or have people just got bored with the forums...

IMHO a few things:
- The summer holidays, people are going out into the real world more.
- Server instability, why risk loosing a ship to lag?
- Looming Kali, 8 new regions to pillage.

Pirate dread had been hanging out in Yong for a couple of weeks ganking neutrals.
We had intended to go kill it previously but every time we started getting ships together we got interrupted by either KIA / TSDS / The Priory / Blood Inquisition / Omniscient Order or one of our other heretical heathen enemies
Finally, one quiet evening I was leading a small anti-pirate patrol in Yong when the Dread appeared at the station. I warped our guys out and called on a few reserves which got into position pretty rapidly.
The Dread had docked again but we decided to put some temptation in its way. It undocked and engaged obviously feeling invincible. We waited till it had engaged siege mode and then called the reinforcements in.
Was fairly straightforward - but still fun
I am sure some fraps will be appearing in some future video.
Back on the original subject could it be that the 'news' isn't so discussed anymore is that apart from a few obvious exceptions most alliances are simply not the huge entities they once were - and the increasingly fragmented political map means wars tend to be more localised and then of less interest to the greater community?

Hadn't thought of that but it does seem to make sense.
WIthout alts fanning the flames or dropping in juicy tidbits of secret intel this board is being starved of oxygen...

There's is no small amount of truth to that. I think it was said above, correctly, that most everyone is busy with summer or school, etc... Then there is that whole big Kali thing... oh, and the Lag Monster.

Pretty much sums it up.
Plus with Kali coming people want to get their house in order and some isk in their wallets to buy new tier 3 BS etc.

How does one get ganked by a dread as in Siege their tracking is aweful and they have lock times worse than haulers don't they?
Anyway nicely done, guess things are becomming quiet again in low sec domain.

I believe that this is the reason why its so quiet. The last genuine region take-over was AAA gobbling up Catch. I don't think any alliances are gonna take any chances from now to Kali, nobody is going to want to get caught with their pants down when Kali arrives.
As for the alt posting, i believe that is barking up the wrong tree. The most vicious threads are actually started by mains, because they have a genuine point to make and are aimed at the jugular of their oponent.
Its quiet atm, cause nobody is doing any hardcore fighting, where reputations and territory are at stake.

As i noticed last year and the year before, its summer holidays that seem to see a slow down in activity in eve.

It's the end of summer, alot of people are going to be just getting back to the game after the long break. I've noticed, at least for us, that things always tend to heat up in the colder seasons. :) Personally, I'm really looking forward to Kali and everything that's going on in that.
