i find it amazing that some cry out to the dev gods for patches for this patches for that they want them yesterday and they want them bug free. sorta reminds me of something i heard once . good or fast, pick one
if eve manages to make it through its growins pains. i do see a expantion but seriously do you think that ccp (a small company to startwith) would actualy take people off there only project to work on something else?
let them take there time and get it right the first time. i to have noticed the drop in players but im not counting eve out yet. afterall would company that is planing to close its doors invest in server upgrades? --------- M F caulsing havoc one frigate at a time. |

read my above thread... it would take YEARS just to get a new game out... WHY?? WHY bother? they cant making any money... they got EVE so they can improve and do more sales with a fraction of cost of a new game.
I would think now that CCP has expanded thier capitol they would want to invest in creating a larger product line and customer base. After all EVE mostly just appeals to the sci-fi type and thats just a % of all mmorpg players. Since it take yrs to develop a new game it could be ready by the time EVE has gone out of style and lost its player base. Cant put all your eggs in one basket.

EVE are in any major gamestore in Denmark. Its just gone on the shelves in the biggest supermarket-chain we got also.
Its gonna be real fun, when 45 year-old Mr. Jensen brings this game home thinking its a singleplayer-game :)

Heh, People seem to have the impression that CCP is a big developement company......well it isn't.
CCP was built around EVE and as far as I've been able to piece together that's their only gig....at the moment.
There is no huge team to split up between projects....most likely their entire staff is working on solving the problems we are having and they're understaffed or just the right size.
In any case they aren't developing another MMPOG as we speak nor are they creating an expansion pack.
They're just a small hip startup company built around a single game......since 1999 that is
I don't think they have much previous experience as a whole, running this type of things but individually I don't doubt that they have the talents an exp. to pull this off. Just the working together like a team part that needs polishing I guess.
Well that's my conspiracy theory for ya...

If their expansion, should they have it, include things that are entirely new ideas such as FFS style on planets then I'm fine with that. If their expansion includes stuff that we were promised as later content within the game of Eve, well... there will be hell to pay

They aren't working as fast as you would like them to work, because they are busy repairing the stargates you damaged byte by byte using a hex editor.
When you stop shooting the stargates, the development of the game will move on faster.

Singular, you're in no position to make threats. Especially since your last, very pitiful might I add, attempt at piracy in the syndicate region led to weeks of endless ship losses and chases for you.
I literally have more screenshots of you going down in flames than screenshots of my corp mates and corporate events. Quite amusing really.. my favourite one is still the one where you tried to jam a stargate and ended up getting owned by a simple "miner" with small guns on a Thorax
You still owe us 5k for that merlin you held up, and until that's repaid along with a full apology and renouncement of piracy forever, you will always be regarded as a pirate, regardless of your scordite mining ops in empire space
PS: Your theory is absolute rubbish, please follow the correct procedure when posting. ie. delete everything on your hard drive first, then proceed to dunk head in a public urinal. kthnxbye! _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. Edited by: Singular on 17/10/2003 06:37:14 Digital, you are just lieing straight out lol. I mean, seriously, you can extend the truth to make yourself look better, but honestly, that last post was just a straight up lie. And what I mean by that is you are a liar. You will die, your corp will die, JGR will die, and anyone that sorrounds you will die.
Come get some. Again.
Btw, Digital is the idiot that eve-mails me once a month with I WANT MY 5K BACK BAHWWHWHHW
No, friend, finally we are aloud to come kill you, as JGR declared with CC. If they had not done that, we would not be allowed to come kill you. Free at last, my god, we are free at last.

I would have no problems with ccp releasing a commercial expansion pack with the intention of getting new subscribers.
HOWEVER unless this pack is freely downloadable to all existing subscribers I'd be out of the door and taking care not to let it hit me on the way out :P
We already pay monthly for the game, I do not like the prospect of paying again and again for additional expansions for the game. These should be freely downloadable since we are are already paying for them.
However if it was something like counterstrike where you could either download or buy it if you didn't fancy a large download, that I would accept :)

you all are very silly.
Why is it so hard to trust a CEO to say the truth? I understand that corporate execs are like politicians but it is within their vested interest to not outright lie to its customers. If they say they are not doing expansion then it would be very bad for them to actually be doing it. This isn't like the Military and questions on UFOs.
The reason for the delay was probably because they were preping the the new server hardware. With the amount of code their servers run for this game I doubt they could just ghost the HDs over to the new system and then switch the hardware. Also up until now the servers have been having major and frequent problems with regular game play for the past couple weeks. So a drop in the online populace of a couple hundred or thousand isn't uncalled for considering many were ****ed off by various different glitches.
