I just had a newbro do this to go pick up more skills, just to find him stuck in highsec. I get it, death cloning across nullsec to rapidly deploy forces on two different ends of the universe makes no sense, but this has nothing to do with it. All this does is harm new players who join nullsec alliances. They are forced to get jump clone skills and have their character trapped for a day just so they can inject some new skills (which in the first month you need to many times).
There shouldn't be a penalty for podding back to just your school. The station you previously set as home remotely should remain available. There would be no way of abusing this to project power, which is why all this nonsense was introduced. If a null block wants to use this to mass move a bunch of players, good luck, because now they are all scattered on the 4 corners of highsec.
I thought that is how it worked before I sent that newbro on is trip, and I don't see why this shouldn't be the case. This way new players are not penalized for joining alliances that require them to set their clone remotely because its in nullsec where newbros cant fly there because of gatecamps. |

The new process was explained well enough before it was introduced.
Instead of coming to whine about how you didn't understand the change and gave bad advice, it's worth understanding game mechanics before you give advice at all.
If he's less than 30 days old and you have an office or HQ where he needs to get back to, then have him drop Corp and rejoin.

It's an easy enough mistake to make when things change, but that's when reading is better than assuming.

This is GD, not F&I.
The comments are the way they are, not because of the topic, but because of the location.
If you want a general discussion about the mechanics, then the general consensus around that seems to be that this occurred because of assumption, poor advice and lack of logistics around supporting new players in your area.
If you post this in F&I, then the discussion will be different.
Going forward, it's probably worth having a heap of starter type skillbooks bought in with a jump freighter or however you manage your logistics, so that you can sell/hand out directly and not have to worry about this again.

You're complaining about something that was changed specifically BECAUSE it was too easy for people to use death cloning for travel.
Use a damn transport/freighter like everyone else does to move stuff from high to null. It's really not a difficult concept.
Your "idea" isn't an idea, it's you missing the point of a change and asking CCP to reverse it.

Because the freighter/hauler you use to go to the starter system could just as easily go to anywhere other than said starter system....

If the 'new guy' needed skillbooks AFTER moving to Null, then firstly either they moved him out there without setting him up or he's not a new guy. Considering you start with a Frigate skill and access to gunnery skills and the support skills within 24 hours. Meaning by the time he needs more skill books he can be perfectly set up for both Cov Ops & Interceptors. Meaning he won't be getting stuck in bubble camps & podded. And of course, being in a Null corp they can provide him an escort to help him along. Or just get him the damn books.
There are many solutions to this, rather than simply changing the game simply so Null Corps can be lazy and get everything handed to them on a platter. |

Stupidity it is...
It clearly says:
Once per year, characters can move their medical clone to either their corp HQ, or any station in which their corporation has an office. This option does not accumulate if it is unused. For characters less than 30 days old, every time they change corp this counter will reset and they will be able to move their clone again.
Now, again, it very clearly says that there is an annual timer...Unless the character is less then 30 days old, then the timer is reset, every time they change corp
Sorry, but it was quite clear how it worked. That you misread it...that's not their fault. So, yes, change of corp is the only option you have atm.

This, very much this.
How hard is it, that if you bring in new players to null-sec to help them settle in.
You have a JC, use that JC to buy in bulks of skillbooks and ship them into null-sec and supply your new players with the skillbooks.

It's not harder.
It's working as intended. If people use it in a different way because they are taught wrong, yes...it's harder. Don't blame the game, blame the teacher.
Also, as said...If you are so good to bring new players into null-sec (and I do mean that as a good thing, we need more people to keep them new players from thinking they MUST mine / mission in high-sec for the first year) then just go and get the books from high-sec and move them to null-sec. So you can supply your new players with the books they need.

I don't expect you to understand that if you're the type to ask the developers for help every time a game is hard.

Exactly this. Your new player is being punished for using a mechanic in a fashion it does not exist for. It was changed to the once a year thing, so that they could get out to nullsec the first time to get to a corps staging location with ease, not so they could bounce back and forth to high sec willy nilly. It's a shame though, that noone in your corp bothered to educate the player of this restriction, or advised them to set up a jump clone first, which would have worked perfectly. |

Someone literally just explained to you that it's not hard to get skillbooks at all. You just need competent logistics. How are you in any kind of position to introduce new players to EVE if you don't even know how to EVE yourself?
