They also don't need MORE tank, they are effective enough in high sec as it is. When backed against a wall, we show what monsters we really are.

And we dn't need cruiser speed freighters, if you need to haul small things fast, use a BR. Big things fast, use a JF.

Something like that If your jump freighter gets tackled in 0.0 it is probably going to die unless you have a large escort gang. In which case, how did it get tackled? Your friends will either fight off the hostiles or not. EHP matters fairly little in this situation. In short, your idea is a strawman. The only place jump freighters need 2x more EHP is in high security space - but the powers that be think this would be unbalanced. I tend to agree with them. You could also use more than one ship for different steps of the journey. I tend to move fitted ships through empire by courier contract to the last high sec staging area, then use a jump freighter or jump them into low security space and use a carrier the rest of the way. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Just swap to carrier mode if you get ganked, and start tanking the damage while popping pirates. When the coast is clear, you can swap back to freighter mode and scoop up all the boxes that were jettisoned when your cargohold size shrunk. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. Your fleets will be superior to everyone else's.
