Edited by: mei liel on 04/09/2006 03:36:16 Need some clerification on these three cards and their intent.
Crime Pays: Target an enemy outer region.
Duration 1: The controller of the targeted region may draw two cards and gain 8 isk.
I play this card at the beginning of my turn on my opponents region then take it over and hold if for a full round. I gain 2 cards and 8 isk. What happens at duration 2 and 3?
Lost Deliveries: Each player skips his or her assembly step. When Lost Deliveries leaves play, you must skip your next assembly.
Does this mean all players, including yourself, skips 2 assembly steps and then you skip a third?
Bomb Threat: Target starbase structure gains "Pay this starbase structures printed price Destroy Bomb Threat".
They pay the price, what happens at duration 2 and 3?
Why do Bomb Threat and Crime Pays have multiple durations but only one effect?

Another:
Faulty Implant Manufacturer: Target player discards a card at random, then all your opponents discard a card.
Does this mean the target discards two cards? One for being target, then another for being an opponent.

Duration is before assembly, so when the card hits duration 0, it's gone, and you assemble. You do not miss 3 turns of building.

Duration 2 and 3 are the bomb's timer counting down. Nothing happens with the carditself, unless the player pays cost, then it's destroyed.

Read the above, and you'll know why.

Yes
Quote: Scythe + Labor Quarters
Can you reassemble scythe to say kill a kestrel, pay 4 to hasten it, then reassemle it again over and over popping 2 shield frigs?
Unless the card says you cannot hasten its assembly (which I believe the scythe, Osprey and something else do), yes.

crime pays: during duration II and III nohing happens, the duration is added to make it a delayed effect giving the opponent and you do act as needed.
Lost deliveries: yes thats exactly right since the card leaves play before your assembly step you loose a third assembly step.
Bomb threat Its a delayed explosion. You play it and it goes in the future, thats why its called bomb threat. The extra durations are in place to actually threaten the opponent with having a structure blown up.
Faulty implant: yes that is correct
In general multiple durations steps without effect are added to delay an effect on the news.

Rereading your questions, I'm not sure that you are playing duratin correctly. If you play a card that is Duration 3 (Dur3 at the top, Dur 2 on left side, Dur 1 at the bottom), it comes into play on Duration 3 (the duration listed at the top of the card). At the beginning of your next turn it cycles down to Duration 2. At the beginning of the following turn it cycles down to Duration 1, and one turn later it goes away into your scrapheap. This should answer many of your questions. -------------------------- Just here for the CCG. :) |

Since it leaves play BEFORE your assembly step, you do not lose an extra turn of assembly.
The Card goes away, then assembly comes up. Since there's nothing now stopping your assembly step, you assemble your ship(s).

The card says you skip your NEXT assembly step meaning the one that come AFTER the news leaving play.
SO yes you loose your next assembly step

Well both explainations on the amounts of assembly where wrong.
It stops assembly for 2 turns for you and your opponents.

But that's still only 2 assembly steps, unless you play the card after duration, before assembly, on your own turn.
In which case you're pretty stupid imo.![Wink](/images/icon_wink.gif)

To re-emphasize, Duration and Assembly steps count down. It sounds like you may be counting up.
Cards always come into play orientated 'up' with the largest step number at the top.
