I give people 30 seconds to transfer the ransom. I dont have this problem.
Correct course of action.

Last guy who pulled that on me got podded, ask for the ransom when they're in hull, and if that sucker tries to rep you beat him right back down there again because if something warp's in that little cnut is getting toasted.

In the last 2 weeks i have made about 1.3 bil isk from loot sales and ransoms and have lost 3 interdictors and a transport. Probably about 1 bil isk profit after replacing losses. It can be done, and it is not that hard.
p.s. Thanks chump pact for the 500 mil :)

Funniest convo on vent I have ever heard followed that little mishap
Pirating can be very lucrative. A couple of decent drops can keep you in ships for a few weeks and as long as you are out there blowing stuff up, thats all that matters

He was ****ting you. You can link your assets, but not fitted modules
No i don't think so. Why the hell would some 1 sit there and open their assets screen, choose the station, then scroll all the way through and manually pick out every item that he wanted to...only made even more time consuming if the items werent all at the same station

You can definitely link fitted modules. Just drag them from your center console to the chat and select the "show info" option in the menu that pops up. -Wrayeth

Edited by: Ms Muneca on 05/09/2006 04:21:35 To give an idea of how isk is made...
I am a reforming pirate (aka ex), and while ratting to raise my sec rating the past 2 days i've had two intys and an AF attack me (and lose :D), all fitted with T2 gear. Depending on what gets destoryed and what survives, I made an avg of 6mill off each ship (got more from the AF bc of his tech2 drones that were left for me to scoop).
However, unfortunately, this is the most i've made in two days. Hell, even when I was pirating and looking for fights I didn't do this good. I guess the lesson to be learned is sit in a belt ratting looking helpless instead of trying to scan others down.

You can link any item iirc, regardless of if you have it in your assests or not.

As I understand it .. the answer to the question "how do pirates get their isk" ... is ....
they steal it

Most isk I ever had was got from haulers. Targeting instajumping t2 transports made VERY good money, though the wait between targets was mind numbing. (I remember taking over 2bill isk in a wkend from haulers alone, not to mention the paying customers)
You need to work solo to make isk from blowing up players... it's just not worth sharing most of the time if in a gang.
With a little care it can be done though... the trick is not to keep losing ships, or at least get a very good kill ratio (100/1 should be seen as a min, if you can't achieve it you will lose isk most likely)

QFT!
I only give 15 seconds to pay. No longer ransom shield tanked ships as 99% of them either have stabbs or ECM and will get away unless you bump and grind in an all out gank

Most pirates use alts to make isk.
The only forms of piracy which are really profitable are empire sniping or deep space hunting.
In order turn a profit you must not lose expensive gear, this requires you to run away from risky fights. Most pirates enjoy risky fights and as a result they lose ships, and lose their profits.

Exactly.
I make enough to live on when pirating, and by "to live on" I mean fitting out the ship of my choice with T2 and good named T1 if and when required.
I rarely fit faction, so that isn't an issue for me. The surplus ISK that I do have is made by an alt, and just adds as a buffer in case I have a run of bad luck.
