It removes one of the most amazing features in the gaming history ever made. The possibility of a vet to become a noob toon by not updating their clone is a HUGE democratic feature in EVE, which is such an interesting game also, I would say almost predominantly, because you can lose everything!!!
I hope many player will agree with this and make CCP revisit their idea to remove SPs losses.

I don't agree. Only one choice, is no choice at all.
At least with the options now open, CCP can look at new ways for clones to interact with the game.

You do realise a vet would need tens if not hundreds of alpha clone loss to really get back to newbie SP levels? |

Name one player who 'chooses' to not pay the fee and risk loosing all the skill points.
Nobody chooses this option, they just forget.
Penalising people who forget is bad game design. |

Clones were a terrible idea to begin with. They don't fit the game story-wise (why would the option to transform yourself into a potato even be available in a medically-advanced society?), and keeping players forcefully docked should be the obligation of other players, and not some half-assed gameplay mechanic. And why should people have to pay an extra 45 million ISK every time they want to take a small ship out for pvp? Seems to me like we should be taxing the mega-rich supercap pilots instead.

Having the SP to interact with the game is a good reason for you to interact with clones.
Then again, here comes another 50 pages of 500m SP supervets losing clones all day. |

No, it removes a tedious and boring feature from a game rife with tedious and boring features. I don't want to have a second job I have to pay to work at. I want to log on, maybe run some missions if my sec is getting too low, fleet up with my mates, and hunt for PvP. Miners will like the game better now that they don't have to fear pod death. Older PvP'ers will come out more often now that they don't have to risk an extra 50mil on top of the cost of their ship, noobs will have a better chance of surviving the game mechanics to become high-SP monsters. Etc, etc..... so on and so forth.

It shouldn't be removed without something else to fill its position. Right now medical facilities have no relevance, and pod death is meaningless for those who do not have pods. This isn't a correct state of affairs for a game such as eve to be in.
Hope they can get this new system which they mentioned in place as quickly as possible. |

It's not a feature, it's a penalty for forgetting to pay the "I got podded" tax. All other taxes in the game are auto-pay, why shouldn't this one be?
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all.

A penalty is a feature.
Then, the rookies. As a rookie I lost SPs. It was just part of the process to learn that EVE is a tough environment. One the no loss upon no upgrade will trivialise.
Will u feel the same thrill, when u PVP, if you could not lose your ship?
SPs loss is a different mechanic, but still a loss. A loss that sucks. A loss you don't want, and there is one thing you can do it to not prevent it, that is to not update your clone.
Wanna make SPs loss different? Implement new game mechanics, do not remove the SPs loss. That is terribad!!! A trivialisation of an awesome game, one that, can be said without hyperboles, to be among the very best in the whole game history. |

Why don't we just completely remove capitals, warp-t0-0, jump clones, and T2, and re-insert the learning skills and uninformative tutorials, because those of us who were around in 2003 had to do it?

If they were going to leave it at simply removing the penalty I might tentatively agree with you.
However in other threads you have chosen to ignore, the possibilities that open up for new clone and death mechanics are amazing... most of which will work far more sensibly if the pointless "Death Tax" goes away.
