Congratulations CCP on 30,000+ concurrent players, Oveur on his 30th birthday, and Hellmar's daughter turning 3!
Seems 3 and 0 are the lucky numbers!
I'm glad to be a part of the ever-expanding EVE community; this game has held me for over 2.5 years and will continue to have my subscription for years to come.
It really is something special that you've created here CCP. A persistant state world that manages to place every one of its players in a single universe together. I love it when I describe the game to my friends and they ask "Sounds cool, I guess I'll trial it. What server are you on?". Every time, they're stunned that there's only one.
So seriously CCP, keep your technology on the bleeding edge, and keep breaking those records! While other MMOs charge for expansions and new content, split the community among dozens of different servers, and retire their title after a couple years, EVE continues to give the rest of the MMO industry the proverbial finger by setting new standards.
Hats off to you folks! Keep it up!

Well done CCP! Congratulations on reaching your goal.
I have to admit, when I logged in this last afternoon to 30,5k online, I was pleasantly surprised. Logging in was prompt, without delay, and gameplay itself was very smooth in several nodes. Quite a feat considering the sheer number of database requests per second, npc functions, and all concurrent capsuleer state calculations. My hats off to you folks.
I have been playing since beta (with fond memories of Armageddon Day), had many different characters, and watched as Eve has evolved into what it has become today. One thing is certain; It only gets better and better every year. You have my thanks and appreciation for creating such a wonderful place for us to enjoy.
Now it's time to up the ante.... 50k or bust!
Best regards for the future,

yihaa happy to see more then 30k players ...(how many of them where alts docked in stations making copy of bm sets? LOL /me thinks a new record has been set...) I wish for all players many happy times to come and that the dev's let us party along with shooting confetti (or some other funny stuff) into eve-space or each other ... (mmm could be hamsters or other server/cluster running rodents that have recently been crashed ...)

OK, the ball's in your court guys. What do you say in reply to 30k+ players on-line?
Well done, and a huge thankyou to everybody who has worked hard to make Eve into the giant that it is

Congrats to the Eve team, whatever part you play.
There are problems with lag and various gameplay issues to address but hey, it's Eve, and Eve constantly evolves. We have the good times and the bad times.
You can please some of the people all of the time (fanboi's) You can please all of the peope some of the time (The rest of us) You can't please all of the people all of the time, no matter how hard you try.
(There are also some you can't please ever, they're the ones on the forums or playing WOW)
Keep growing, keep evolving.
PS: Happy Birthday to Hellmar's daughter and Oveur aswell, did he get that champagne or did it go to Hellmar's daughter in a terrible mix up?

Congrats to Oveur for achieving all this before his 30st birthday. Quite amazing actually, especially since it probably wasn't easy to find funding for his nice spacegame
Good luck, keep up the good work, even when all of us seem like a bunch of whiners. I think the whining is mainly because most players actually care about this game.

How is this a good thing again? The servers are worse than ever and CCP has the nerve to celebrate. I'll take 15k online and a stable server over your 30k anytime.
Get this game running better before you go slapping yourselves on the back.

thats actually along the lines of what i was going to say.
sure its cool, 30k people in a game world at the same time, but horrific lag and instability that comes with it are not. yes i know it says im in a nube corp, but i assure you this is my 1 and only char.
i just havent found the right group of people in a corp yet. only 2mos old ffs. |

Congratulations.
And to those complaining about the lag. As some people wrote before, i had no lag whatsoever either. I suppose everyone sitting in the same two high sec systems gets you lag tho, yeah.

lag issues will sort themselves out soon (CCP always bring in extra capacity when needed tkaes a bit but they have a scaleable up system available to them )
Ie more ramsdans - more nodes - adding more high sec and now 0.0 x 8 regions in kali (like to see more low sec systems added perhaps one to each constellation and a few new NPC corps associated with some of hte pirate or new low sec only factions.

1.) 50% of that 30k are macro miners or other exploiters. This is a primary reason CCP won't touch the macro slaves... they'd loose huge ammounts of $$$.
2.) If there are so many players out there learning skills, why have T2 BPOs not been seeded to keep pace?

Hum, wrong supposition dude... for instance Kaunokka (a 0.5 system), is often so slow.
That's a pity because I really like flyin' inside this kind of system, where there's many ships, many pilots, activity and... life. We are playing to an mmorpg, aren't we? ^^

Do you play the same game ?
We were 8 in the same system (in 0.0 ....). Yes it's true 8 is a big number.
Please CCP, Can we have 1 system per pilot ?
I love this game, and I wait the fix that will solve the Lag problem. But please dont lie, we have a lag issue. I just hope that CCP will fix this soon. And I know that CCP are doing the best that they can.

Congrats!
That's a great achievement by anyones standards.
From memory, DAoC's servers used to melt down around 3500 users, WoW tends to have about 10-14,000, so you can see it's a great feat.
I remember in beta and at release it was marketed as a "100,000 users in the same game world", slowly getting there :)
