Alright well ive had an Absolution in my hanger for a long time and I think im going to wipe off the dust. Ive got a setup which does 440.0 DPS or so with drones and 390 without, so for those guys who have been using the Absolution in the last few months would this setup fly?
5x Heavy Pulse Laser II (Conflagration) 2x True Sansha Medium Nos
10mn Domination Afterburner Dark Blood Stasis Webifier Dark Blood Warp Scrambler
True Sansha Medium Armor Rep. 2x Energized Adaptive Nano II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Explosive Hardener II Heat Sink II
2x Hammerhead II's Warrior II
Again I havent used the Absolution in a while but it hands out 440 DPS and its resistances are-
EM- 81.96% Explosive- 93.91% Kinetic- 90.48% Thermal- 86.81%
That looks like one mean tank... Anything noticably wrong?

For solo engagements it seems ok as long as you can avoid nos heavy ships.
For small gangs I'd drop either the web or the scram and fit a cap injector and another gun and leave someone else to tackle.

Might wanna try swaping a Energized Adaptive Nano II for a nice named damage control. Then a Armor Explosive Hardener II for another heatsink or cap or something else

I had thought about dropping a thermic hardener for another heatsink II but I decided I wanted to be able to tank the opponent to the ground and kill him with slightly lower damage.
Also I thought about a DCU but I would rather have the 20% resistance on armor over the 14% and the 58% on structure ect. Id rather be straight armor tank even though DCU's are handy.

I would change the exp and one of the ean's for two heat sinks instead. The abso has great res anyways. Try and go for more dmg instead. You wanna be able to tank better I suggest you add a cap booster instead.
Though it depends a lot on what type of role you wanna play and what type of engagements you wanna take part of.
With my setup I have 80, 85, 89 and 84 in res and a 828 dmg output (ex drones). -----------------------------------------------

I would have thought command ships would be one of the first targets in a PvP battle? considering that I thouk the tank option would be a good idea.

I am running:
6 Heavy Beam or Pulse IIs, Med Nos II AB II, X5 Webber, Cap II Med AR II, Energized Thermal II, 2 EANs, 2 HS and a Stabber
+ Whatever T2 drones fit the occasion
Honestly, its not a tackler, its a gun boat, also with the Cap II and Energized your tank is not going to suffer too badly when you get Nos'ed down, which you will.

absolution is a great pvp ship, you need a good tackler but other than that it is just nasty. 440 dps is not what this ship is made for. i would go for ....
6 heavy pulse 2 1 med nosf
1 sensor booster 2 1 med cap booster loaded with 800s 1 20km warp jammer
2 med armor rep 2 2 faction eans 3 t2 heat sinks
5 warrior 2 drones or ew drones
if you are in a gang that has enough tacklers then replace the warp jammer for either another sensor booster 2 or a tracking disruptor.
this set up gives you mid 83 to 89 resistances on all but thermic and the thermic i think is at like 74. the cap 800s can keep you in a fight long enough against a nosfer to kill it. you have a nasty passive tank. not sure of the exact numbers but you easily i would think be getting 800dps without drones. 2.17 rof and a 9.27 damage mod isnt that bad.

Although I like this one it would be a tight fit...and with 2 reppers your cap would be at 0 the second your enemy turned on his nos .
Buy maybe, im going to try all/most of these out before I run into another command ship or HAC pvp'ing.
