Well, there *ARE* dozens, no hundreds of people who think that it is. And they do all they can to keep people from exploiting.

Great, another mission nerf in the works.
Jiekon, by your response I feel that it is a safe bet to say that as a player you Devs don't ever run lvl 4 missions? I mean, if you did run them it is not like you could miss it, its like 10000x more massive than a rifter! How could you not be aware that something that size exists? :P

At some point in the past a game developer made a conscious effort to put THAT roid in THAT mission. If it was there merely for aestetics then it could jsut as easily be veldspar. The fact that level 1 missions have veldspar and lvl 4 have Omber seems to further the notion that it was an INTENTIONAL choice to put it there, with ore types scaled to difficulty.
I fail to see how mining an intentionally place asteroid can be defined as an exploit.

Would be a really funny exploit too, seeing how running the next L4 mission will make you MUCH more isk/time than mining plain Omber... --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

Is that realy an omber roid? Or is it a big veldespar roid with an omber roid 25 km behind it selected?

No reason to assume that it's not omber. Plenty of missions have huge omber roids, though the size doesn't always seem to correspond to the amount of omber in it. The roid in space 2 of HC 5/5 has 90k omber in it.

Might seem strange, but the size of the roid doesn't always betray how much ore it holds, particularly in missions. You need to scan it to find out. Never seen an Omber one hold more than 90k of ore. Ever.
Would be interested to see a screenie showing a survey scan of that Omber rock.

I would take your bet as you are dead wrong, i w***e level 4 missions like you would not believe, the roid in question appeared to look HUGE as in, so huge it may have had 900,000 omber instead of 90,000 (there is nothing wrong with the 90,000 omber roids as far as i`m aware) i just wanted to check it and make sure a mission coder had not slipped in an extra 0 by accident.
I checked the level 4 version of Enemies Abound (as someone suggested) and the roids looked fine. All i can guess is it was an optical illusion. unless you can provide more info, like name of mission, agent that offered it, number of omber in the roid. Seems all is well and no nerf is coming.

You've never done an extravaganza or Worlds collide I see. 30-40mil ISK in an hour or two, 'bad' bounties on npcs or not, is nice.
Sorry you can't afford a dev so you get me instead ^^ - Xorus I hear Xorus is only 50 isk an hour - Immy |

For such a semi-valuable "not veldspar" that is a huge asteroid, even larger then some of the massive scordite asteroids in 0.0 "seen one that took up 1/4 of screen at 50+km". Hard to tell how large since you can't accurately tell the distance but nice as far as omber is concerned though.
