I knew gallente space was ALOT better than caldari space for mining, but this is ridiculous. I'm no miner, but I'm pretty sure there is some kind of anomaly here, the ship you see is a rifter.

Following the news of the great discovery an armada of miners sets "sail" to deal with the situation. In hope of many travelers to see the wonder and profit from it pirates start camping the gates. In the end we have a press release from the Gallente government concerning internal affairs, external affairs, mining politics:
"We are sorry but you just saw is just a fabrication. There is no such thing as omber. The only omber thingy we heard about is someone called Omber Zombie. These facts are clearly fabricated. The rumors about miners heading that direction are also false AND we have no trace of pirates in our space. From secure sources we here that the other political entities have not detected any pirateson their teritory either.

Edited by: New Soi on 05/09/2006 10:01:33 Judging from the amount in local, it might be on Tranquility... but it's also possible that somehow he got his whole corp to log on the test server at once and go to the same system?
If this is on TQ, I can feel a little nerf coming... a GM will pass by with a stick and smash it into smaller pieces? (Unless this is a mission and not in a belt )

This is Tranquility and this is in a deadspace mission. I was helping the mission runner (Zaqq) so I don't remember any details about the mission.
I thought about mining the asteroid but missiles didn't work and our ravens only have 4 turret slots for mining lasers, so we ignored it.

I was doing "look at" the rifter (Zaqq). I was in an Iteron IV (grabbing mission loot). Had a funny bug too, cargo not filling up. Thought about starting an AFK mining for a couple days but again, blowing up rats with missiles is more funny.

I think Human Cattle level 5 - 2nd deadspace jump has a very large omber-roid in there. Have mined some of it once in my Brutix, but it was more cost effective just to blow something up as I get bored quickly!

Those are in deadspace missions. Great for low sec corp mining ops. The enemies abound one has something like 200 mil omber in it, plus a bunch of huge kernite roids (I think, its been a while)

So, basicly, I found out that lvl 4 missions can ACTUALLY BE PROFITABLE? If this is true, than I thank CCP. About time missions had something else besides ridiculous amounts of rats with sucky bounties.

I did a mission last night that had a big omber asteroid in it. Not like that one though.... :) I feel that if people have the energy to go bring a mining ship and haul the ore back, they deserve the extra money.

Sounds fine to me. Weather you are farming missions by just doing them over and over again for money, or mining the asteroids, its the same result in the end. You spend time doing something and get money for it.
I farm missions sometimes when I need some cash. Its not that boring actually.
