After downtime today, only 15k players on. Mostly over 20 seconds lag on any type of actions in Aramachi, with only 58 players in system! What's the matter, CCP? Aramachi used to be able to handle WAY more than that!

Dunno, but it was the same yesterday, ever since the patch (everyone in the system, not just me). CCP could be running the server in debug mode I suppose, which would slow things down... Would be nice if they let us know when something is obviously not as it should be... |

In that case, if your unhappy about it, why don't you just not read the forum?
There is obviously something not quite right in the way the game is running, since it used to run much faster when only 15k players on, and a mere 58 in system. We're just trying to make CCP aware of that since they obviously aren't. With their excellent customer service they would have told us if they knew (sorry for the sarcasm, CCP. I'm still pretty happy about the way you run things ). |

Lag was pretty bad last night. Bad enough to cost me a ship, but as I subscribe to the don't fly what you can't afford to lose I won't petition. Doesn't mean that I won't complain about the lag. Who knows, CCP might actually do something to fix it.

You can say that again. I've just timed module activation at between 17 and 33 seconds.
Before the patch, I thought it was just BM copying that was doing it. Now I'm mystified. I guess we must be sharing a node with some high-use systems. I thought Dragon was going to sort out load-balancing? It's not very difficult to work out that Aramachi, full of people grinding level 4s, will generate consistently high load.
Ooh, while writing this the node just collapsed and everyone in the system got booted.

give it a bit. usually it seems normal that the client is a bit slower after patchday
- cache usualyl gets invalid and it needs to transfer again - ppl still downloading patch
in 1-3 days it shoudl be ok.
in my system i dont encounter much lag, sure sometimes here and there, but i can dela with it :-P ---

Laythun: Can you please stop restricting having other people voice their opinion ? That is - at best - the moderators job and frankly annoying when conducted by you.
Thank you for your attention

Well, Corp members of me in the US got disconnected, while I was happily mining in the same system. Maybe the network between UK and US is causing the hiccup.

Doubt it. I'm in the UK, so is my corp mate. We even have the same ISP. He had two accounts logged on and only lost one of them. -- (Battle hardened miner)

EvE is always laggy couple days after patch. client downloads, and also the fact that people are rebuilding all their cache from eve over the coming days always cause that.

im just curious what will be blamed next, first they blamed too many drones and so nurfed it so we could only use 5 drones each, this time its bm's limiting them to 5 bms copying each, what is gonna be next?

you see - post like this is irritating.
bm copying causes lot of lag, but the main problem with bm copying is all the item id that it use up. they have stated this, repeatedly.
as for the after patch lag (which is what this thread complain about), the DEVs have stated with pretty much every single patch ever that excess lag is to be expected for up to a week after the patch as clients are rebuilding their caches and servers are remapping their own caches.
why is this so hard to understand? it is something they state every time, but just like every other sticky and useful piece of information - people would rather try to act 'smart' (when really looking dumb for not knowing these things) and complain as if they could do better. __ Weirda Join QOTSA Now |

You might be right in the reason for the lag, but you completely miss the point, and instead start to insult and flame people who ask a legitimate question. WHICH sticky? (there is none!). WHICH information (there is none!). Just because YOU know (...think you know), that's not 'information'. If it really is the reason, then it should be an integral part of each and every patch note. Then we wouldn't ask questions about it (at least I wouldn't, can't say for everyone else).

every patch announcement says this. and it have been said many many times... with the exact explanation that weirda gave.
honestly don't know why there isn't a sticky for 'patch issues' for this patch. most people have been using the deployment thread. when this patch was initially announced (2 deleted threads ago due to boomark whining) that exact information was in there. maybe keiron doesn't feel like posting it every time now (he certainly used to - as well as other dev in their announcement)- dunno... maybe because they realize that these thread will crop up regardless.
how exactly is Weirda insulting or flaming people? that is very serious alligation. perhaps many of the other posts in this thread are insults and flames directed at CCP...
honestly though - the best (non) sticky anyone can read is here: Patch Day - First Timers Guide

Patch announcement.... No explanation here. You're wrong...

So you agree there's no information about this.... and admits your former post was wrong. Good.
Originally by: Weirda how exactly is Weirda insulting or flaming people? that is very serious alligation. perhaps many of the other posts in this thread are insults and flames directed at CCP...
"why is this so hard to understand?" Superior, smug attitude... "people would rather try to act 'smart' (when really looking dumb for not knowing these things)" Ehhh, how should people know when the information is not given out? Calling people dumb for not having information that has not been given is insulting I'd say. "complain as if they could do better" As a matter of fact, I can (and do) do better' I'm a SW dev myself, and part of normal SW delivery practices is to deliver documentation along with releases and patches, INCLUDING explanations on what issues customers might experience, why they happen, and how to cope with them. Doing this makes for happier customers, and more importantly eases load on our support staff enormously.
Originally by: Weirda honestly though - the best (non) sticky anyone can read is here: Patch Day - First Timers Guide
This 'guide' says "PatchDAY is Lagday", and this was the exact reason I DIDN'T post on patchday! Also, it is a NON-STICKY (and quite far down the list), and it's NOT from CCP. You can't expect people to read the entire forum (and with no search ability) for info.
So, I've just proven you wrong on all the 'points' you make. QED.
Stop being a fanboi, and accept that CCP has some issues with customer information (as do all other SW companies I know of, including the one I work for). Since they don't have a support line we can phone, the only way to make them aware of it and maybe, eventually, to make them provide that info, is the forums.
PS: Stop speaking about yourself in third person, it makes you sound like 'The Rock' (who's not exactly the brightest example of intelligence on this planet).

i got realy bad lag in a 0.0 system with 5 people in it, there is a station but usaly not that many people around. This is kinda deadly when your in a cloaked recon ship, lag is not a nice thing when you jump into a system and uncloak and then try and cloak and it takes 40 seconds to turn on...
