I would like a poll of people who get this message over and over. I bet it is quite a lot. You all think it is your computers. I think it is a server problem. My connection is good or one of the best. My computer is high end. Nothing they suggest has changed anything so far.

I would like to know so I can refer them to this in a link.

 Thank you in advance.

I was getting that message quite a bit over the weekend, started happening Thursday night. It seemed a bit more stable after Tuesday's patch though.

Yep, me too. That's why I'm not playing right now. After about the third or fourth time...

This is really not making a good impression for my free trial.

Check the other thread, the problem might be centered in London. Anyone have this problem who isn't getting routed through London?

Yes. Particularly in the Mornings through mid-day Pacific time. Perfoming tracert 87.237.38.200 from the command line reveals a similar pattern every time:

 10 48 ms 48 ms 56 ms so-1-2-0.bbr1.SanJose1.Level3.net [209.244.3.137]
 11 213 ms 242 ms 258 ms ae-1-0.bbr1.London1.Level3.net [212.187.128.58]
 12 198 ms 193 ms 193 ms ae-0-55.gar1.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.139]
 13 193 ms 194 ms 201 ms 195.50.91.22
 14 194 ms 197 ms 195 ms 87.237.38.199
 15 227 ms 199 ms 217 ms 87.237.38.200

It's almost always a high ping once the trace jumps to "London". It's INCREDIBLE FRUSTRATING for this new player.

I haven't had it yet, but buddy gets it all the time, but only during combat. He can be doing couriers, mining, etc and go forever - but if it's combat he constantly gets CTD'd.

That's only IF he can even log in, of course.

It's not your PC. They have to tell you that because they cant say its a socket layer problem in the software or something like that.

However, they are working on it all the time. When this game first came out, you could play mabee a half hour or an hour and BOOM! Half or all of the players all over tranquility were kicked off.

Its waaayyy better, and you can get right back on in this game plus they have made it so you warp out instantly. Before if you were in the thick of it and you got kicked...you were done.

I've been getting the same issue.

For whatever reason, it seems to not be as bad directly after downtime. I can get any of my 4 accounts logged in and operate them successfully. Then, within a few hours of the servers being back up, it goes into mega-lag mode and eventually loses connection to the server, never to be connected again until the next downtime. Sometimes, when the servers have near to no players, I can sneak one of my 50-100 attempts to login past the problem and get in for a few minutes.

So far, CCP's only response to my pleas has been the generi-response of "Hi, check your firewall and router to see if it's blocking the game" which is amusing given that if something were blocking the port, I wouldn't have recurring ability to log into the game. I'm hitting critical frustration mass, probably because I've been playing a lot of this game (more than I should to be true), but for me to have handed out almost a thousand dollars to a company I hope to get better than an automated response over a week's time.

Sorry for the rant bit, I know it's not appropriate here, but it blows off just enough steam to keep me hoping and not cancelling.

Maybe this has something to do with it : http://myeve.eve-online.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=1248&tid=1
quote : "Due to maintenance on our web servers you may experience some connection problems on our websites (www.eve-online.com, myeve.eve-online.com, secure.eve-online.com and ccpgames.com). This should only be short disrutions at a time but may occure over these two days."
(it says websites connection probs but my guess is someone got drunk celebrating and spilled a bottle of champagne over them hamsters ... even the P in disrutions is missing

I get it occasionally, but I put it down the computer cos I've got 3 accounts and can have another account running on a seperate PC linked up to the same network and that one doesn't drop.

So I don't know what causes is :(

Same here....lose connection after just a couple of minutes. Have posted about this in other threads. Seems to happen after every CCP patch and mysteriously disappears after we are repeatedly told it must be something on our end.

I won't entertain any suggestions for a fix because I have tried EVERY fix suggested in the forums (including sending tracerts and dxdiag to CCP). This is a problem created by CCP's patch, and needs to be corrected by CCP.

 VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be very helpful if those who has the problem did a trace route to CCPs (using the tracetr command from the command line, or a program like Pingplotter).

It's my suspicion that Level3.net, on of the ISP that is passing traffic to CCPs servers, is the source of delays causing high ping and leading to disconnects. Like the Knowlegde Base regarding connection problems says, one will have connection problems is the ping is greater than 180ms. For me, the ping jump up to the 180-250ms range as soon as the traffic passes through jumps on Level3.net's servers.

Of course, Level3 the last ISP before the traffic his CCPs router.

I just tried tracert 87.237.38.200 from a computer at work at the University.

The result is excellent, ping of 1ms through the first 8 hops. . .
Until it his level13.net's servers where the ping is ridiculous.

Since two days, I've got an increased ping (normally 19, now around 30+), and loss (as reported to pingplotter)
Had a few disconnects as well (but not as often as some of you guys).

Registering myself as a sufferer of this "bug".

Happens very, very often...and only since the recent update. Sometimes I can play for 30 minutes with no "connection lost", but often 2 or 3 times in one battle, about every 2 minutes.

lol happened AGAIN merely seconds after I replied to this thread. This is now getting most unenjoyable to play...

Not only losing connection, but the LAG!

Seriously I never tend to post but I came here hoping that someone found the problem or had a few ideas on how to cut the lag down and possible information on the lost connections.

Needless to say it sucks all the way around and most of all the lack of ANY response from the dev team makes me wonder if theyÆre even looking into it.

As you can see, things are all happy and peachy until it hits hop #8, when it hits London... The number in bold is the average number of milliseconds during that hop, over 25 traces.

Have been experiancing the same problem over the last few days. It's very frustrating. And we had a frig tournament yesterday. Was loosing connection approx. every 5-10 minutes

It startet a few days ago (wasn't that last patch also from the few days ago?). At first, I thought it was an issue with my new router (also few days old) but firewall is set up nicely and connection to the Internet is stable. So it gotta be smth with the game

Needless to say that the game is unplayable for me at the momment and I'm not gonna play it until it's fixed
