I updated the game with the repair tool and am trying to use the evefile.exe to open up the game but it just sits there |

-Character selection screen is black, it will come back if you resize your EVE window or you can skip it if you can estimate where your character is and click on it on the black |

I actually had this problem happen to me when trying to run two accounts. I got this in the command line:
err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_map >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glMapBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1038 err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_unmap >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glFlushMappedBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1150 fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8. err:d3d:delete_gl_buffer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glDeleteBuffersARB @ buffer.c / 102 err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_map >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glMapBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1038 err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_unmap >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glFlushMappedBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1150 fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8. err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_map >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glMapBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1038 err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_map >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_VALUE (0x501) from glMapBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1038 err:d3d:wined3d_buffer_unmap >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glFlushMappedBufferRange @ buffer.c / 1150
I was able to login using the launcher, but unable to see the simple icons on the left hand side. So maybe some of the major changes to the UI causes this problem? |

Happened to me after running Mint Update manager.
I found switching it off and on again fixed the problem |

I also had to reboot to clear this problem up after I caused it by starting a second client. |
