I skilled up to use armor maintenance bots, thinking I could use them to repair my damaged drones and thus save a "remote armor repair" slot when ratting out away from stations. However, when I targeted one of my armor-impaired drones and selected "engage target" the status on the Medium Armor Maintenance Bot I changed to "incapacitated" and nothing got fixed.
Incapacitated? What's *that* about?
Are these only for healing someone else's ship? Have I wasted this training time?
To avoid this question in the future... where are these drones documented?

It's a bug. The drones still fix the target. Trust me, the number of whines about "incapacitated" drones that are not is less than it would be if thr drone was "fighting"

Not sure what you did wrong. I fix drones with drones all the time. The "incapacitated" message is the normal message when a repair bot is engaged and healing a target.
You weren't trying to fix a drone's hull damage, were you?

If you're not sure what your drones are really up to, select one and Look At it. If your repair bot is orbiting another drone, spraying green clouds of nanorepairers over it, then yes, it's doing what it's meant to, despite the faulty status reading.
Remote repair bots will work on anything you can target that has an armour rating and is within your maximum drone control distance. They cannot be used on yourself. _______________________________________ Interstellar joy-rider |

Thanks much. I evidently didn't wait long enough to confirm the repair was happening.
