1. DirectX 11 and Wine - in Linux [original thread]
Stupid question time. What's better about DirectX 11? Is it really worth CCP's time to move toward it? I'm not a pro (either in video or EVE), but between runs of the real stuff I do on Linux I booted Win10 from the other partition and tried EVE ...

2. What The H-E-Double Hockey Sticks Happened to Mining? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Solution: mine in a tanked Skiff, and only in a belt with Retrievers, Mackinaws or Hulks. It's like in scuba diving: you don't need to swim faster than the shark - just faster than your buddy.

5. Sticky:Dev blog: Principles of Industry in EVE Online - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
Thanks for the blog - seeing the big picture helps me understand what challenges I'm going to be facing. Changing the UI to be more intuitive is certainly a good thing - it's currently pretty opaque to the new manufacturer, especially one who has...

6. So what's keeping you from moving to Null Sec - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I spent several months in a 0.0 alliance, and found it annoying on many levels, including the annoying politics, intra-alliance corporate superiority complexes, awoxing, a corp thief leading to suspicion and finger-pointing until he finally cleane...

Yup - the market already adjusted to the fresh supply. I'm afraid speculators may not be able to cash in on scarcity right away, since they're relatively durable.

11. Ubuntu 14.04 and EvE - in Linux [original thread]
I just upgraded my three linux boxes to 14.04 with wine-1.7.17, and they each work perfectly out of the box, even with the launcher. Winetricks no longer needed. Box 1: desktop with an oldish screen and NVIDIA 8800 GTX. Box 2: beefy laptop (660m...
