Hiya,
I heard that you could "not accept" or "abandon" one mission every four hours, for each agent. I *really* hate the "Avenge a Fallen Comerade" Lvl 1 mission, because killing the habitation module in a ship with only 2 or 3 weapons is, to be honest, pretty dull. Some friends of mine are even laughing at me for playing a game where you can go AFK to brush your teeth while in combat.
Anyway, I got the mission last night, so didn't accept it. I wasn't looking at the numbers so can't comment. I killed some drones, then got it again. This was inside the 4 hr limit, so I accepted it. This morning I abandoned it using the "I don't want to do your mission" option in the agent conversation, and my standing dropped from 2.4 to 2.1.
Question: So what is the deal with the missions you *really* don't want to do?
Cheers

Do not accept them. As easy it is. If you accept it you MUST finish it successfully to avoid a standing loss.
If you get an unwanted mission offered twice within 4 hours then - well... - you have to wait until the 4 hours since your last mission rejection are past and then decline the mission (BEFORE accepting it).
The logic behind this is that people donŠt pick only the nice missions but are also sometimes forced to do a nasty mission. |

Ah thanks - that makes sense.
So when the wrong mission comes up for the second time in four hours, don't accept it, don't reject it, just close the window?
I guess that agent will only offer that mission until I accept or reject it, so come back in 4 hours...

That offer is active untill you either accept or decline or it runs out of time (I think 1 week). If it runs out of time you also get a standing loss. --- The Advanced Drone Control Panel. |

No, pick the option that says something like "I don't have time for this nickel and dime business."
(btw, what's a nickel and dime?)

U.S. Currency
A Penny is one Cent. Smallest form of US Money.
A Nickel is equal to five Pennies. (five cents)
A Dime is equal to two Nickels. (ten cents)
"I don't have time for this nickel and dime business" is about the same as saying "The money you offer to do this sucks!" or "This is chump change you fool!"
---FAST FACT--- Exxon Mobil, the U.S.'s largest oil firm, reported annual earnings last year of $36.1 Billion, or $1146 a second, a record for any U.S. corp. |

Even though nickles and dimes aren't used, these chars did all come from earth at one point, sayings could have lasted throughout the aeons.

Leaving aside the amusing question about archaic earth money, your advice is wrong, the second time in four hours he cannot reject it, which is what choosing this option does, without getting a standing loss. He needs to either not revisit that agent until the four hours have passed, or if he is in such a hurry and the agent offers again a mission he doesnt want, he has to leave the offer open by quitting the dialog without either accepting or rejecting, which will leave the mission pending "Not Accepted" in his journal and he needs to come back later and reject it. In other words, what he said is exactly right.
